I’m surprised nobody suggested the new Alienware ultrawide AW3418DW, beats the x34.

Anyone got reviews on Prism+ W270? Seem like the best value 1440p QHD 27" monitor around with AHVA panel (close to IPS)

Using the older version Z270 with VA (instead of AHVA which is better), no complains whatsoever. Pretty accurate colours upon calibration (ask Aftershock calibrate for you), no notable input lag (tested without using softwares and numbers, purely subjective to my own personal feel), matte finish on screen is good as you won't see your own reflection. Do give it a try at Aftershock showroom. See it for yourself before buying. This is what I prefer and usually recommend is for one to test the unit, see first before putting the decision to buy or not.

Yeah but price is high.
I have one and honestly it is the best purchase ever made.
I settled for the Dell despite the higher price because of my experience with Dell so far plus their warranty covers perfect panel. Mine out of the box had 0 dead pixels and backlight bleeding is minimal only at the sides. Does not concern me especially when playing Ultrawide.

I will recommend X34p.
It is a few hundred dollars cheaper than AW3418dw at 1.1k during promo.
Same panel as AW3418DW but has FRC for 10 bits and built-in speakers.

But AW is much nicer aesthetically.

Any recommendation between Pg279q or xb271hu?
Any place to get a good deal on either of this?

apparently the Asus after service is not as good as Acer’s which was the reason why i chose the xb271hu instead

I second this. Acer after sales service for their predator monitor is no horse run.

hey guys,

am deciding between Prism+ W270 and Acer EB321HQU now. understand it's 27" vs 32", but i'm more concerned if 32" would be too big for a desktop monitor (strain eyes.. haha). both are 1440p, Prism is AHVA panel and Acer is IPS panel, both 3 years warranty. based on last it fair price, Acer was selling @ $348 and Prism+ @ $375 now.

any experiences from the gurus? which would you go for? :s8:

It's whether you can get used to it or not. If your eyes to the screen is less than 3 feet (due to small table or no space, then 32 inches could be a bit too overwhelming. I'm using 27 inches and about 2.5 feet away from the screen, I'm perfectly fine with it and it's just nice from my perspective.

32" on curve is recommended i feel.

used to have a flat one at 32".. my head tired, my eyes worst.

after i upgraded to a 34" curve not issue any longer.

IT show is just next Thursday-Sunday. Wait for it to see if there are decent offers on site or at lazada. Then make use of their miserable coupons at least to get free shipping to your house.
