Monitor Recommendations

Hi guys,

My previous monitor just spoiled 30mins ago and Im looking for a replacement.

Any recommendations?

I'm using a MSI 7850. Might be a good chance to go dual display.

I was previously using a acer h243hx. Might want to retain the 24" reso or up it.

Im looking at Dell U2412M.

Is the Dell UltraSharp U2413 24" Monitor with PremierColor worth the extra 300+ dollars.

Or should i go for the Dell S series S2740L 27" Monitor with LED ? which is around 529.

Are you doing anything that requires the high gamut display and color accuracy such as photography or graphics?

If not, I dun think you need to aim for those category of monitor such as UltraSharp.

Just normal web surfing and gaming.

FPS gaming with two monitors is really strange, because your crosshair will be... between the two monitors

The Dell U2312HM (matte panel) is decent for gaming and movies. If you prefer a glossy screen, Dell has the S2340L model too.

I'd say two monitors are useful if you're multitasking to the extent of running 2x Microsoft Word on one screen and 1x web browser on the other for data and stuff.

I will recommend getting a 27in monitor for your usage.

As long as you have a decent GPU to power 1080p or 1200p.

Yes, you will get roughly half(plus abit more) the fps as compared to a 1080p.
Reason being having 80% MORE pixels than 1080p.

If you compare 1080p and 1440p side by side, the difference is really

Personally, I don't play TOO graphic intensive games but I feel that even a single 7970 is very playable at 1440p, and I usually MAX FPS most of the games I play, Dota 2 Gw2, WoW.

Also, if you do more than just game on your computer, 1440p makes everything so much easier with almost twice the area you have to work on compared to previously. I personally am not a fan of dual monitor's at all - aesthetically and usability.

But if you don't have the money for GPU/1440p and only want to just game, the usual 23-24" 1080p's shouldn't disappoint. But you might be missing out on a lot

Yes, Just got my crossover 27Q yesterday. VERY impressed with the build quality. Got a 0 dead pixel panel somemore
