Hi all, I've just purchased a new gpu today (Gigabyte RX6600XT) for my 4 months old rig. However, my monitor's refresh rate option is capped 60 Hz (1920 x 1080).

My previous Nvidia Gtx970 on my old rig was capped at the same resolution but at 144 Hz.

I'm still using the same monitor, BenQ XL2411Z and using a HDMI cable to connect to the monitor.

Does anyone know how to rectify this issue? Thanks in advance.

referring to the resolution manual you will need DP cable to enable the 144Hz.

Thanks Yongkit for this info.

I just realised that my monitor doesn't have a DP port. Only Dvi, Vga and HDMI ports. The RX 6600XT only has DP and HDMI ports. Hence, 144 Hz is not possible on my current monitor and gpu.

Can change the monitor already, it will be incredibly hard to find a good quality DP to DVI Dual Link adapter.

Probably so as this monitor is about 7 years old. Will look for a gaming monitor come black friday.

Try installing the driver from AMD website if you haven't done so.

I didn't as I've been using the igpu since I got this rig.
im now confused, so when u had ur 970 u also plugged the cable into ur mobo display out and still got the 144hz option? anyway liddat u buy dgpu also no point. plug the cable into the gpu display out and like technie mentioned, try installing amd drivers and see if those change anything.

His 970 has a DVI port, it's an old card. That monitor only supports 144Hz through DVI

That was on my old mobo/rig. I'm still using the same monitor though.
