Monitor resolution question

Hi guys, as currently I'm using a 32 inch TV as my monitor, resolution is currently 1366 x 768. As my graphic card can go beyond this resolution, when I try to set it, certain parts get cut off.

Understand that this is due to the maximum resolution not supported by my TV. However my question is previously I was using a 1920 x 1080 20 inch monitor, I can go beyond this resolution without the screen being cutted off. May I know why?

Will upgrading to a 40" TV work for me? Don't want to spend too much on a big screen monitor as its too expensive and that price I can buy a TV.

I do a combination of watching shows on bed. But when I work I do it on the desk. Hence I think 40" might be a bit overkill for my eyes. But the low resolution TV screen is making me hard to work.

FYI I don't want to invest too much on as I will be shifting house next year. Don't make sense for me to pay too much for a new display (budget <400)

Because your monitor has better scaling processor.

In contrast TV tends to suck in this aspect. That's one reason why monitors are more expensive than TVs.

Which TV are using? Cos this is definitely limited by your TV. As I believe some TV can't be over ride more than its max resolution.

And monitor and TV are build for different and there is hardware limitations as well. So if monitor can doesn't means TV also should work.

As for how big u wan the resolution to view your work. Look for this FullHD logo.

And beside that are u looking for a TB or monitor? As your 3 paragraph seems weird..Like u asking for a TV and dun want to spend on TV???

If u want a monitor there a lot of choices below 400. Just that what u need from the monitor.

And if u want a TV make sure u find those supporting the MAX resolutions u want.

Your current TV resolution is HD-Ready only.

Which TV are using? Cos this is definitely limited by your TV. As I believe some TV can't be over ride more than its max resolution.

After checking your current TV specs it's stated that is can support up fullHD for CPU. But am not sure could it be the HDMI issues and do u have a VGA/DVI cable to test it?

Yeah I saw that as well. Hmm maybe I need to adjust some settings from the TV instead from windows. Will try it out.

32" is around $299

Go ask around...

There should be a setting called overscan on most TVs. disabling it will allow you to see the whole image

Yup. I saw this as well but couldnt find much review about this monitor. So not sure how reliable is this brand in terms of durability and colour display
