Hi all, I'm looking for a gaming monitor for FPS games like Overwatch and Rainbow 6 Siege. My preferred requirements are:

24"
1080p
144Hz refresh rate

I'm looking at the PRISM+ X240 cos it's on sale right now on Lazada at $249; but I'm getting put off by the "5-10ms" response time, and have also read some not so good reviews about this monitor.

So a few questions:
- is response time or refresh rate more important for FPS gaming? What is an optimal response time? Must it strictly be 1ms for FPS gaming?
- what about the panel type? I think I've read that there's IPS/VA/TN?

Based on my requirements, any other recommendations? Thanks!

Both is equally important, if you were to get smth like 8ms, you'll definitely feel the difference. As for 1ms -5ms, its subjective to userm some user might find it obvious some might not even see the difference.

TN Panel is the cheapest, but with the higest refresh rate, narrow viewing angle

IPS Most expensive, larger viewing angle,

VA is inbetween TN and IPS, with better black colors.

Some recommendation by me, I've used KG251QF before, its quite good, but because it's a TN panel, If you were to look at the monitor at a different angle, the colors are bad. I think this perfectly fit what you are looking for. :D

or

Acer Nitro VG270 - IPS panel, saw alot of ppl recommend this here.

Hey! thanks for your detailed reply. Yeah that monitor seems to hit all my requirements. it's pretty hard to find something I need as I'm not very up-to-date with tech news and with so many brands and monitors out there.

Just a question: is that monitor currently on sale at $279 or is that its usual price? thanks!

go download the lazada price tracker, it is a chrome extension, and it allows you to see what was the price last time

Bought it a year or two back for $270 at SLS, there can bargain if you know which shop to go to. Haha
