Monitor to PC compatibility

While looking to buy a used LED monitor came across a post where it was stated that reason for selling a monitor was because his 24in monitor slows down the PC graphic performance because of the bigger sized monitor. This has prompted me to ask this question:

As I am a looking for a 24in LED monitor for my old Intel dual core PC will there be any compatibility issue as described above?. Any input will be much appreciated.

It's the resolution issue.

You can have a 20" monitor with 1680x1050 resolution and a 24" monitor with 1680x1050 resolution.

However if your PC cannot handle displaying 1680x1050 resolution it won't make a difference getting the 20" monitor.

Just ensure that your PC can comfortably display the native resolution of the monitor you want to buy.

TS, maybe you can share with us your current monitor, graphics card model and your usage ?

From the above 3 items, we can provide better advice.

Thanks for having taken an interest to my enquiries. I am unable to locate any card. I open device mgr to check and there is no indication of graphic card. Could it mean it is using the lowest form of graphic (integrated ....)?.
Or is it possible to advise me how to locate for the graphic card?. If no graphic card can upgrade?.
