monitor usb for mouse

I'm trying to find a setup where by I will be placing my rig on the floor. I was wondering, can I use the monitor usb ports for my mouse and keyboard?
If so, will there be any issues(e.g. lags, monitor overheating etc)

Sorry if I'm a little noob, haven't had any monitors with a usb port and I can't seem to google it.

haven't bought the monitor yet, so can't try it out :X

anyway, any 24" monitors with usb ports to recommend?
