What's the right size of a monitor for Netflix movie and gaming? Does 24" or 27" matters a lot?

You forgot viewing distance. No point getting 40 inch if you sit 30cm away.

Depends on the usage, the distance, the preferences of high res.

For me im going for 32inch. Not because for professional usage. But for movies that will be viewed at 5m range and above from my bed. And i always game at 1440p res instead.

As for gaming. 1080p is mainstream 23inch to 24inch is the best ppi you can find out there. You viewing range should be 1m or 1.2m max.

If you intend to go high res min os a 27inch 1440p. Ppi would be the best at this size. But take note that icons will seems much smaller at this screen size.

27inch, korean monitors. With high ppi 1440p on 27inch is crisp.

If you want nice viewing, 32inch 1440p giving you a nice 90-99ppi just like how 1080p on 24inch feels like.

It depends on your budget, response time and usage and perference.

some people prefer 1ms because gaming but most monitor 3ms ~5ms is good enough unless you are very fussy.

23~24" monitor for most brand around 180+ ~ 300+ (exclude special clearance/promo)
27" monitor is roughly 300+ ~ 500+

i think recently there are a lot of promo. I saw one quite tempting from sam**** 27" at 50% cheaper than normal price. Not sure if the promo is still available or not.

for movie, i think 27" would be good and non-glossy preferred IMO but like said, it also depend on the distance between your bed/sofa/sitting place with monitor and also what kind of movie you usually download.

if you download those 2560x1440 type then maybe you may want to consider higher-end monitor for better visual otherwise a normal 1920x1080 monitor is good enough. Also depend on your PC graphics, but most can support.

otherwise, get a TV with media player. lol! sky is the limit*, saw an 70" TV.. wider than my sofa. lol!

They are ALL LCD technologies unless you are referring to AMOLED which is true OLED produces colour natively. These so-called "LED monitors" are merely LCD monitors with LED backlighting.

TN, IPS, PLS, VA, are LCD panel technologies

LED, CCFL are back-lighting options that makes colour produced by LCD panels visible

In general marketing terms,

"Traditional" LCD monitors = CCFL backlight + LCD
Most (if not all marketed today) LED monitors = LED backlight + LCD

AMOLED displays are OLED emitting colour lightings making colours visible directly to viewers. Hence, you'll find images on these AMOLED screens on phones/tablets saturated and strong (and eye straining to certain group of people) as they are emitting a lot of light energy to viewers' eyes.

And therefore people are saying apple and orange comparison as they are totally different thing to begin with.

I only find it just nice to have my 48" TV 2m in front of my bed headboard....

Not too small nor big. Just nice for room size. There are some movies will show full screen during playback. Not bad.

Using my bluetooth filco keyboard and wireless mouse to control.
