My monitor (Acer Z35p) has been acting weird these few days - it would randomly go blank, and none of the buttons would respond. The only way to make the monitor work again is to turn off and turn on the electricity again.

Any advice on what could be happening please? I'm certain my CPU is still working because when the random blank screen happens, I can still hear audio from my computer headphones. Didn't install anything new to the CPU either - last change was to install an RTX 3060 but this was a while back in mid-Nov. The random blank screen only started happening a few days ago.

Do you mean the monitor's buttons not working ? If that's the case try plugging your monitor to a wall socket, turn on your monitor and check if the buttons still functioning. If not then the monitor is faulty.

I faced the similar problem on my new 24" pc monitor 2 mths ago...

it works without randomly goes blank with unresponsive buttons after i changed the following settings

disabled free sync from monitor
set refresh rate to 60hz instead of 75hz from win10 pc
disabled hardware acceleration on browser

so far so good without any issue....I'm using ryzen 3 2200g cpu igp

you may try...

I'm usually just browsing or watching Youtube. The blacking out happens no matter what I'm doing - sometimes I can go AFK with just Chrome running and it'll still black out.

Yes I've tried the wall sockets as well as other power outlets. The blackout still happens.

TS, list out the full spec of your rig here.

Thanks for sharing! I've disabled g-sync and will see how it goes.
