Hey all,

Which laptop do you use at your workplace?
Brand, Series (Model), Price & Warranty Service.

Doing some research and preference as well.

Thanks.

not sure about the current lenovo range, but the most iconic would be IBM thinkpad. Built like a tank.

For business, an important consideration will be the support u get, so i would avoid consumer brands like sony, acer, asus etc.

Asus or Lenovo Laptop?

Hello everyone. I'm gonna buy a new laptop for work and is thinking between Asus and Lenovo. Which brand would you guys recommend? Which is better in terms of durability? My present one is Acer aspire S3, I've been using it for almost 3years already but now it's been lagging lately. I heard Asus or Lenovo is better than Acer.

Thanks in advance.

What's your budget? If money isn't an issue for you, go for Lenovo ThinkPad New x1 Carbon

for durability, go for business models. Though not really well known in usual consumer market, these are the laptops that corporate purchase.

That includes Lenovo Thinkpads, HP Elitebooks and Dell Latitudes.
These are the ones taht are really durable.

For your Acer, the lagging is probably just due to your software or harddisk (if your S3 is a HDD model).

Just need to format your software or change your harddisk to SSD if you want it fast. :)

ASUS ZenBook has served me well over the last few years. Used to be hardcore IBM T series user before, now ASUS is the king. For business usage, reliability is the priority, ASUS has never failed me.

Just wondered if anyone have use ASUS business laptops before? The ASUSPRO B Advanced series...

Notebooks - ASUSPRO B ADVANCED - ASUS

Asus business division just started around 2 year plus ago.
The business models are actually rather good, light weight, with good keyboard depth. However, in terms for business features, they still lose out to Lenovo Thinkpads and HP elitebooks.
However at the speed Asus is catching up, their business models will be worth to look into in the very near future. :)

From my personal experience with an ASUS notebook and their service centre, I would not encourage the ASUS.

My brand new ASUS notebook broke down three times in three months for the same fault and the service centre diagnosed a different problem every time.

The notebook is non repairable now and the people at ASUS cannot confirm or decide whether to replace or refund the notebook. It just "NOTHING HEARD OUT" from them and they continue their fun and games selling their stuff

Would you want your business data locked or crashed with unreliable equipment or service centres? Would your want to visit their service centre so often. Every time your device breaks down you have to send it to the centre and make another trip to collect!!! DO THE MATH

Thanks for sharing and sorry to hear that.

It certainly is costing a lot of time and resources to do the above and doesn't make any business sense.

Lenovo or HP

I would suggest you go for Lenovo or HP for business laptop. These 2 are the more recommended brand for business laptop. Price maybe slightly higher however, for support and reliability they are definitely the preferred choice.

I am working in a IT company, have sold hundreds of these machines, really not much problems. If price is a concerned you may want to look at HP Elitebook 820 G1, they are changing model, the price have drop a lot.

I second the HP, more for their tech support and no nonsense 1 for 1 replacement. Very gentleman attitude compare with some Taiwanese "A" brand that sounds like "b@ckside - U"
