Looking to buy an external portable HDD to store stuff. My 500gb WD Passport has maxed out.

500gb was priced the best last time in terms of price to storage.

What is the market like right now? Is 1tb the most cost efficient amount at the moment?

Any recommendations?

Your are looking at 2.5 or 3.5 external drive. For 2.5 should be 1tb, 3.5 - 3tb.

Cheapest I know of is Hitachi Touro. 2.5' 1T usb3.0 about $88-$89. Some shops will sell higher price, but if you see someone selling at this price, it should be low enough to not make it worth searching further.

I think Cybermind sell at this price but have to like their facebook or something. There is at least one other shop that sell at this price, but can't remember offhand.

last week i got a seagate expansion (usb3) 1tb @ 79 from challenger. just walk in and buy. every outlet also got the promo.

just checked the website. it is 89 now, still great deal. why waste 2hours of your time and effort to go to simlim.
