Motherboard and GPU matching

Hi All,
I am trying to combine 2 stable systems into one better system. Unfortunately, it freezes during game time. The MSI motherboard is already flash to the latest BIOS version. Any tips on how to improve the MSI motherboard setting and making it stable is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Usually freezes is either due to RAM as well as Windows issue.
1) Do a Memtest check the RAM.
2) Disable D.O.C.P/XMP under BIOS test again.
3) Format/Erase SSD than install Windows. (Disconnect from Internet so you can install drivers)
Do install AMD chipset -> LAN -> Audio -> Graphic card

For AMD PC the chipset must install as it install AMD Power plan/tweaks for Ryzen CPU.
Try these first as the specs you show me is alright except the first rig.
The SSD Samsung 860 1TB I assume is a SATA one change to either a Samsung 970 EVO Plus
or 980 Pro.

The 860 is SATA and 980PRO is NVME. The set of Corsair Vengeance 3600Mhz is a new set. The 980Pro NVME is also new. The second system is stable. I have since revert back to the 2 stable system. Would running lower then 3600Mhz fix the problem ? Thanks.

Do you try DDU your older Nvidia driver for the 3070ti on new system?

Are you familiar using RTSS to monitor gaming performance or hwinfo for the overall system performance?

If you can please share hwinfo data for reference to check if you are experience cpu or GPU over heat issue

Never OC so it's not a temperature issue. I will wipe NVME SSD and do a fresh install in my next attempt. This is the fist time I use a MSI motherboard. It's a bit finicky. I format SSD in MBR caused it to stuck at BIOS. Format in GPT fixed the problem.

Format in MBR? FYI usually how to install Windows is like this.
Wipe the NVME SSD using MSI Secure erase inside BIOS.

2) Configure the boot mode from CSM to UEFI.
Latest BIOS should have UEFI mode enabled.

3) Press F11 boot into your thumbdrive take note it should state UEFI:XXXXXX.

4) UEFI boot should have a MSI Logo spining but at first it can be Windows spining.

5) Install Windows using thumbdrive no need to format the drive.
Just let the Windows installer partition the drive.

Take note Windows 10/11 uses GPT partition not MBR, MBR is for older Windows like
Windows 7. Unless you are installing Windows 7 than you have to use MBR (Master boot record).
Windows 8.1 onwards are using GPT partition something like this.

UEFI boot have many improvement over Legacy boot which also include security feature.
Oh yeah remember to enable secure boot to ensure Windows is fully secured.
This is to prevent any security vulneratiblity which may lead to virus attack or data leak.

I notice that the AMD chipset driver at the MSI website is a recently one. I have already downloaded all the drivers. I use Windows install to create partition D and that might have caused Windows to format as MBR. I install Windows in a single partition and it's formatted in GPT. I don't see there is a MBR/GPT selection option in Windows installation.

I was a bit naive to expect Windows 10 to install all the chipset drivers.

Thank you very much for all the tips.
Install the AMD chipset driver(AMD_Chipset_6.02.22.053), LAN driver(realtek_pcielan_v10.68.815.2023) and audio driver(Realtek HD Universal Driver). No more crash.

Fundamentally is the AMD chipset driver that make it stable.

I never use Windows update to install driver especially for GPU.
Sometimes it can be either wrong or not compatible or out of date.
Manufacturer website one will be more stable than Windows update.

You folks are of great help. I almost gave up and ended up with 2 mediocre PCs. Then again, why not give Hardwarezone a shot!
