Hi experts,

Am retiring my old pc and rebuilding my PC with i5-4570 or 4670 cpu but in a Micro ATX case. I do not intend to do any OC.. Just wanna plug and play. Will also be reusing the my GTX660 TF but may upgrade that in future. Question is, which motherboard should I get? There are so many different brands and type out there!

Hence appreciate any feedback on which brand and model that is best for the above specs. I put reliability and features above price as I dun want any failure at all. Have been using Asus with good results but open to other brands. Should I get H87 or Z87? Again I do not intend to OC and so do not need the hardcore boards.

Finally, any recommendations on which store I should approach to set up my rig? Appreciateall help!

Just get a h81 or b85 board will do. You do not need a h87 not unless you need the extra sata ports and also the raid functions to connect your multiple hdd.

You also do not need a z87 board if you do not intend to oc nor going into multiple gpu setup such as nvidia SLI or AMD crossfire in x8/x8 config.

Lastly do you need recommendations on components? If so state your budget and items that you will need.

Do you need monitor, keyboard mouse, wifi, OS win7/8.1, speakers?

And please state a budget that your are comfortable with.

Hi.. Thanks. Will probably go for the h87 as I'll have multiple hdd/sdd and may do raid. Any recommendations on brands and model? Looking at the Asus h87 pro.. Looks good but not sure if reliable.

I'll buy the usual other components or use back some of my old components.

Get MSI H87M G43 or Asrock H87M Pro 4 (cheaper) will do... No need waste extra $$$ on Asus boards. Not say they can last longer than other brands.
