Motherboard+CPU Advise

Hey all,

Im looking to upgrade my MB+CPU and my budget is about 500, should i increase it? I use my computer daily for gaming/videos and run 2 monitors. My setup as shown on the right. I look to eventually upgrading my GPU in the future to keep up with games.

Im currently looking at Asus H170 Pro gaming + i5 6400, any opinions or more suggestions?

i do not overclock my pc.

Edit: I just realised my Ram is DDR3 while h170 is DDR4, i guess i would have to get a new RAM or change my choice. Suggestions?

well i would say depends on you really really not gonna upgrade any more den u can consider getting skylake board with d3 = DDR3, else if u gonna upgrade in 5 years den can consider getting a ddr4 mobo now den next time u can still reuse the ram.

but may i ask would u want from the mobo? features like more sata ports, raid system or usb 3.1 type a or c, etc?

buy i5 6500 (3.2GHz) instead of 6400 (2.7GHz).... only about $20 more....

my knowledge is limited so i cant give you specifics, but basically what im looking for is a gaming oriented mobo, with features like improving audio, connection, etc.

Actually i want to change my current mobo because of my CPU. after changing my GPU, my CPU is not keeping up, if i play newer games i would have high CPU usage so i thought i might as well change both. also ive already had this mobo+CPU for abt 5Years.

I plan to upgrade my parts slowly over time so ill go for ur suggestion of getting a DDR4 Ram, would be nice if you could recommend one too!

well im not sure if u need a atx or ok with a matx since what u need is mostly audio and lan connections :
