Motherboard Crazy Temps

Just went to do some basic cleanup for my friend's computer, when i saw these temps. Temps like these cannot be natural, yet when I checked the case airflow it was still ok.

What gives? What do you think I can do to remedy this? Reapply thermal paste? (but the temps don't seem to be coming from the CPU, in fact CPU seems to be running hot because of Mobo temps)

Agreed, But just in case, in a worst case scenario and the mobo is actually running these temps?

If your mobo is actually at that temperature, it would have shut down.

Actually u can go inside bios, attached a pwn fan, go to fan settings and set the different fan speeds at diff temp. When you are done, rs the pc and is the fan running at max speed like one heli?

Anyway you can install ai suite/ other temp monitoring softwares to chk and see as well. But I gt a feeling it is still more geared towards buggy reporting.

if the bios says nothing about it, it is possible that board does not have a temperature sensor. that is probably why hwmonitor is being strange. remember to choose best answer.

Got the same motherboard, same 115*C board temp. I think it is just our motherboards do not have a main board sensor and HWmonitor doesn't know what to do.

it's software fault


because those sensor does not directly report in readable format "85 degree celcius" to the chipset ....
the software must be compatible with the chip to accurately decode the data

use hwinfo64
the developers make the effort to make it compatible with a wider range of sensor chips , while other lazy developers (like hwmonitor) don't cover as wide ... resulting in many users reporting error
