jus wondering, is stock i5-750 at 2.8ghz...?

Just wanna ask when u said clean fan I assume is CPU fan? U took the fan out is it? If yes, did u check whether ur thermal paste is dried up? I had this prob last time. The CPU heated up too fast n shut down cos my thermal paste dried up when I took my CPU fan for cleaning.

The thermal paste is still good, as I did not remove the heatsink from the cpu, only the fan; I am not using the stock heatsink.

jus curios agn, does bios version show onscreen before it auto reboot? wondering if bios version shown is same for 1st & 2nd boots.

Lucky for me, I got my brother's rig. I changed my power supply to run only his setup, when I pressed the power on, it will immediate spun into action. It will not power on, and then shut down, and start up again.

Vice Verse, I changed his power supply to run my motherboard, it start up, and then shut down within 1 sec, and startup normally again. Therefore, confirming motherboard is faulty.

As I mentioned in my initial post, the mb is behaving normally, meaning, start immediately after pressing the power on button, until my hand itchy, and clean the system fans, and don't know touch what items to cause it faulty.

Although this do not affect the whole process of using the computer, what I afraid is that it will affect the life of the hdds. Frequent startup and shut down (power surge) of the hdds will affect the life.

Anyway, maybe I am too naive to think that everything can be repair, afterall, they are all make up of electronic parts. I just hope to reduce wastage.

nothing will happen in anyway every way.. i also dunno why they are designed that way.. but i have the same behavior not a problem to me at all.. cause i dun even switch off the main socket.. only when i do maintenance or upgrade i have to turn the main socket off.. i have a PC that behave that way since 2007 it's 2013 going to 2014.. so i can assure you nth will spoil..
HDD is heng suay 1.. i'm particularly jinx with seagate.. returned multiple times..

Sorry, remembered wrongly when I just started the thread. It is i5-760.

The shutdown is too fast to display anything on screen. So, I can only see what the bios information on the 2nd boot.

Reading from your previous post, I think your issue (or not an issue to you) is different from mine.
1) For your case, your PC delays the startup when you just physically turn on the power (aka the power switch). For my case, my PC startup and turn off and start up again when I press the soft button switch on the PC. 2) For your case, no much impact to the system as there is no power surge to the internal of the system. For my case, the power is supplied to every parts, cut off, and then turn on again. That is not very good for all the electronic parts.

I suspect that some of the capacitors in your power supply may be weak, causing it requires to charge up the capacitor before it can supply power to the other components.

For me, I always turn off the physical switch when I am done with the computer, to save energy. Do you know that your computer is still consuming power even if the computer has been shut down? You can connect an USB device to computer and it can still draw electricity from it!

With regards to hdd, yes, I will always avoid seagate. I only has 1 seagate hdd in my computer. The rest is WD.
