Hi. I'm 'downsizing' from a micro-atx setup because I want to make it more portable due to travel obligations that's coming up, and I need help selecting a mini ITX motherboard that will fit a silverstone SG-05-450 case.

I currently also have an intel i7 2600K processor which has served me well, and I don't want to put it to waste by going with bundled deals which is somewhat above my budget tbh. Can someone recommend any compatible mITX boards? I tend to game though maxing out my graphics isn't necessary, and I also multitask a lot.

Thanks.

Nope, not over clocking. I was recommended the ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe by some others, any opinion on that? Thanks.

would not take it if i were you... Z77 boards are for overclocking it will be a waste of money if you take it. Further more its an Asus board, meaning to say you will be paying quite alot more for a similar board from other brands just because its Asus

i think the only think you need to consider is whether the gpu can fit in your case... not sure what games you are gaming... But if the GPU can play the games you are playing now at stable framerates then no need spend money to buy another one, can use the money eat Tzi Char

one question, the h61I says "ddr3 1600 mhz only supported with ivy bridge processors" but isn't the i7 2700k sandy bridge? my ram all 1600mhz. also no usb 3.0...

just a few things to add my current setup using ssd + hdd with 24gb ram (i know m-itx max 16gb), and i've been using triple/double monitors so far. Uhm, if regardless of whether I'm OCing or not, then what would be a better mobo? i can push my budget to $200 or so.

edit: can i consider the Asrock H77M-ITX?

oh i thought you on budget cause never specify... but there is a difference between the pricing of oc board and non oc boards leh... must consider properly... btw possible list down all your current parts ba. But if want USB 3.0 i would consider B75M-ITX... around $11X only, but cannot OC. Btw Sandy Bridge max can only support until 1333MHZ if i never remember wrongly... thats why all your 1600mhz will be bottlenecked. But don't worry 1333mhz vs 1600mhz not much diff de

yeah just checked, sandy bridge up to 1333mhz only. some guy built the pc for me years ago, so a little oversight there.

my budget around $200 either way.

anyway the parts i currently have
silverstone sg05-450 (new case to move everything into)
intel i7 2600k
Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-X 1GB
g.skill ripjaws ddr3 1600mhz (can't remember in detail)
Crucial m4 128gb ssd (OS)
1TB western digital hdd (planning to increase capacity to 2-3TB eventually)

I'll be stuck with these for the next few years so wanna get something better incase of minor upgrades

Is there a significant difference between H77 and B75? because I keep hearing that B75 is business oriented and H77 more for consumers, which leads me to think H77 would be a better option. I think I'll consider either boards for now because I'm kinda in urgent need to put my PC back together.

if thats the case then just use the board i recommend ba. H77 extra features are like oc of ram and HDD or ssd raids. If you not using those feature then 75 is enough le. Use the saved money to buy kopi or eat tzi char lo hahaha my favorite pasttime
