Motherboard Problem?

Hi bros,

Just need your expertise in determining these symptoms. One fine day, my com suddenly starts dying on the USB connections ( Example: My hard disc, mouse, keyboard will off by itself and after awhile goes back on )

Then randomly, my graphics card crashed to a black screen with an immovable mouse.

And last random factor, my SSD containing my windows crashes, whereby sometimes at start up it couldnt detect my SSD.

I had made a huge upgrade last year buying a couple of new parts except for my motherboard manufactured by Acer which is around 6-7 years old. So is the problem got to do with the motherboard or my PSU or something else?

AMD Radeon HD MSI 7970 Power edition 3GB

seems like it, you can try to go acer website and see if got any bios update for your mbo.

however, i suggest you to get a new mbo and like you said its around 6-7 years old..

TS, return to stock speed if you overclock.
Is the Acer mobo come with onboard vga?
If so, remove your MSI 7970 and use onboard vga.
If this fail, remove 3 pcs of ram. Swap if fail.

Doesnt have vga and didnt overclock

Oh man I really think I should get it replaced

your mobo must be very top end at that time to support DDR3.

i dunno....i work in reverse mode....upgrade the mobo before touching anything else.

Yep it was, some acer gaming pc series that cost me about 2.5k
Acer Aspire M7720 if I am not wrong

Any recommendation for the mobo upgrade? I'm abit blur if the motherboard comes with the processors

your cpu is lga1366?

a bit problem as 1366 mobo is like no more....unless you buy from open market.

you are better off buying a new ivy bridge combo...mobo + cpu....a lot of choices.

Anyway, I face the same problem but not as bad as TS'.

Mine is when I play games halfway or even idling, my computer just crash and the fans suddenly become very loud. Then when it tried to reboot, sometimes it works, sometimes it will have 1 long beep. Then I resit the ram and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

Also, when I boot into windows, rare cases one of the SSD will not be detected. Is it a motherboard problem as well?

what kind of games are you playing?
i see you using onboard video.

I thought Nehalem based CPUs' RAM controllers are all DDR3 only...?

One long beep -> check who made your BIOS and then search for the beep codes online.

Ok, I decided to replace my mobo with budget of $3xx to $5xx ( Which I think I finally should as part of upgrade )

Any recommendations for me? Do i need to consider what limit my PSU can supply?
