In addition to that, I feel that I'm looking at my phone lesser than before, because most of the time when I touch my phone, it is to check if I have any notifications. I'm definitely appreciating the usefulness of having a smartwatch, even though it has only been less than 12 hours since I got it.

Question: If I dismiss the cards on the watch, it also dismiss the cards from the phone permanently?

I dismissed the traffic cards, and found out much later that it also removed all the traffic cards to several locations that I frequent.

So next question is how to dismiss the notification on the watch without permanently dismissing the cards on phone.

the cards will eventually come back

i have weather and traffics cards all the time

starting to find the traffic ones useless

Furthermore, my music stops if I double-press the watch face to access the settings (because OK Google is launched).

Alright thanks. Traffic ones have been useful for quite a numbers of occasions for me. Weather, not that much

The only way for music controls notification not blocking the time is to use digital clockface, after that switched back.

i unplugged from 3pm, until now still has 60%

Ambient mode was on after 7pm, moderate usage like checking notifications, navigation, testing of OK Google.

So far i have not installed any 3rd party app. everything is stock, upgraded firmware.

This morning, I turned on Ambient mode with brightness 2. Using the black Rotate watch face. Left home 645am, now at 95%. Will report more tonight.

Yesterday, I had Ambient mode OFF and brightness level 3. Even had Facer watch face (with moving seconds). Also installed Wear Mini Launcher. Left home at 650am and by the time I reached home at 730pm, I still had 59%.
