Any bikers here ? My bike already close to 100k km, is a top overhaul necessary ? It’s a Honda bike.

Overhaul is to let you bike run better and prolong lifespan i guess... well I had bike myself but if this is daily mode of transportation...dun you think sayang a bit for serving you 100k milage justified some rejuvenation haha

Think usually engine due for overhaul when mileage too high exceed recommended for overhaul. Regardless of car or motorbike. Cause of wear and tear.

Chamber may have pitting from the constant combustion. Gasket old and rigid may not seal that well thus oil leak and such. Metal seal and valve may not seal that well from the constant moving wear, thus poor combustion. Therefore its not just need to clean and change parts, also re-grind the metal to metal contact points to get back good seal.

So, even if engine still running, different parts may start to fail somewhere along the way, and fuel efficiency will drop alot. Its either wait for something to fail while halfway on the road, then llst overhaul. Or do the necessary preventive maintenance by overhaul before fail occurs, when mileage reach limit. Once overhaul will run as good as new with as good efficient as before.

usually bikers has their own circle of fellow riders or 'assigned fave mechanic' to go to when their machines are having some issues?
so that they can ask this sort of questions for their opinions & such

Honda engine no need any overhaul. Just normal EO change + filter, spark plug needed.
Dont add those nonsence additive...

From my dad Super4 20years and my 10yr NSR + CB400X, Varadero 125
None of my Honda need overhaul..

Once a while when rich, use V-Power to clean up combustion..the tricks for motorcycle not to baby it...always ride according to the rpm as stated in the user manual...if manual stated best rpm 6k...in whatever gear ...stay in that rpm...if you keep on riding at 3-4k rpm...the bike spoilt easily..

Another issue is too much EO in the engine...always top up abit lesser than stated coz u cant drain out full when u change it...

Ya Honda engines are reliable. This is my first bike but second hand. So I just do whatever the shop tell me they want to do lol.

Yes don't need... Wait till top gasket leaked then open do valve clearance and timing chain replacement. If you ride normal and change engine oil and filter often. No issue.
