Foreigm HWC are already paid better than locals.

Tell that JLB CEO to take 10k per mth salary and no other benefits. Give away his remaining salary and benefits to locals

Give locals the same matching salary as foreign. If a S Pass or WP holder can draw 5k per mth for example, how much do the hospital pay the local?

A inexperienced FT can enter Singapore using the so called passes and permits and draw the minimum salary as the so called passess and permits. Not counting in their paper qualification study.

A local nurse starting pay is way far away from these FT. And locals study at local poly which is supposed world class standard.

Did anyone ask why world class education standard lead to salary less than those FT whose university cannot even found on google search?

The same thing may happen with doctors.

Malaysian doctors are now offered jobs as medical officers in Singapore.

It means that graduates from universities in countries such as Myanmar, Bangladesh, Sudan or Uganda can work as medical officers in Singapore

When local degree-qualified nurses are paid the equivalent of an overseas nursing asst, maybe raising their salary will help retaining them??

"so those countries are welcoming healthcare staff and rolling out the red carpets, maybe giving them and their families permanent residency or citizenships."

which countries will do that?
Australia Canada USA Switzerland Japan

U basically can pick any country as a doctor or nurse these days lol

Our salaries are not competitive so we attract most from developing countries

$5k is probably with 5-year experience kind. Starting pay $1.8k I think lol. FTs same range only no CPF deduction and get extra $400-600 for housing allowance nia

and $5k for experienced nurses is sai compared to other developed countries. They go overseas can get close to double and in USD some more

my humble advice to Mount Alvernia Hospital CEO if u want your HCWs stop from leaving give them mininum salary like other 1st world countries do and limit 4 patients to one nurse and your HCWs stay put!
especially now with covid and ommicron virus your HCWs are drain to the max if i were one of them i long time ago quit!

Also better lobby MOH to get their shiet together, and for OYK to stop taking reckless risks.

all of his policies have a direct knock on effect on how the infrastructure is able to absorb shocks

Other countries don't have to deal with OYK and Kenneth Mak, don't have to work for pittance and unreasonable demands, no union, no welfare, of course.

the headline seems to allude to 'gov should roll out red carpet for foreign hcw, give foreign HCW's families PR and citizenship in sg'

so its not:
- HCW can be paid more (better 'career')
- HCW's working environment can be better managed to avoid burnout

its: gov should open flood gates and give out more incentives to attract foreign HCW so that private hospitals can continue getting low cost labour
That is true.

From what I know, Australia is the only one in our APAC region that offers a so-called "fast-track" for foreign nurses.

Sadly nothing will change for the better bro in Singapore that is the fact.

the nurse will not get minimum wages and minimum patients to nurses like other 1st world countries because profits will be effected and if one hospital really take the step to give all the above I mentioned other hospitals will no choice will follow and then other sectors also no choice will follow because their workers demand the minimum wages and guess the top won’t be happy.

And after the people(slaves) have the taste of victory and then they will demand more work and life balance do really think the top will be happy?

At the end of the day it’s all about profit lah bro.
