I would say Mt Austin is a great place to visit for trendy cafes (latest in coffee and bubble tea culture) and entertainment (live band pubs, karaoke) where you will encounter the young, local crowd. This is a scene you do not get anywhere else in JB. The Austin Hills Water & Adventure Park should be quite a draw too.

Been to Mt Austin a number of times. Many of their artisan coffee cafes closes early, so I usually don't get the chance to try. Some of my personal favorites so far for your consideration. Images all sourced from Google.

For bubble tea, I would usually go to The Alley, and order the 皇家9號奶茶. Though they already have multiple outlets in JB

For Korean Fried Chicken. I would go to 22 Fried Chicken Factory.

Quite enjoyed the ambience, decor and food of Thank You Mom too.

For Chinese cuisines. I would go for 外婆家.

Japanese cuisine would be Warakuya. Several outlets in Jb too. Always has a queue. But you can just feast on the popcorn and tidbits while waiting. Alternatively for a shorter queue, you can go to Sushi Zento which is a short walking distance away.

Japanese Hotpot. I prefer to go Bushido. Cheap and good :s13:

One of the latest attraction there is the LED Modern Bar. If you are into drinking and chiobu watching... A number of cafes beside it too, but food is not really fantastic imo

Lastly. Not forgetting KOBO BBQ and Hotpot, which one nice chap here introduced to me 2 years back. Thought it has closed down, but FB is still active. A real feast with a wide selection. Located upstairs. CHeck out the photos at its website.

And these are located at the area around Austin Heights Water & Adventure Park only. There are still plenty of eateries near Austin Residences and Taman Austin Heights. Enjoy your exploration.

I usually grab to mount austin, stay a night there. You can explore the hip in the evening and breakfast in a cafe.
I haven't go mount austin since covid, waiting for my wifey to recover from sickness then I will go again.

Grab from City Square to Mt Austin on a Sunday morning was about 15RM. Return trip on the same day during late evening around 44RM. If viewed in combination still okay at about 10SGD one way.
