Hi all,

Just saw the Sep 3 Speech by Dr Chee and am personally touched by him. I know there are a lot of threads already on this but I just want to say something humbly. Hope all the PAP supporters do not flame me for this.

I just felt that with this speech, whatever nonsense he has done in the past has been erased from my memory. His sincerity in his speech has won me over.

I know a lot of people do not like to read long messages so I will keep it short. After listening to him, I have this fear. The fear of him not being able to win in his constituency due to the strong PAP support in his contesting area. If this is becomes a reality, I am sadden by our loss of someone who has a good understanding of our issues and perhaps, the loss of someone who might be able to really bring reforming changes to our future policies. If not, at least he is able to provide us with an alternating view if he is able to get in.

So, all the best to Dr Chee.

I used to think that he's crazy & too extreme. But if he's running in my constituency now, I'd have given him my vote in a heartbeat.

I'm only 50% differ from TS. (Long story alert)
When people tell me how bad or how crazy he is, I always defend him

Reason is during that "era" media was playing a big role in GE. I remember he is always shouting very loud for people to support his vision and SDP vision.

When I was very young living in Yishun, I always thought this crazy shushu always shouting and most people walk away and only a small percentage of people approaches him.

Yrs of election past and always looking at the same scene and through conversation with those old uncle and my relative, I begin to realize this is not a free country we thought and that if he do not use bold approach, he is not going to catch anyone attention.

People were generally afraid, not all though, to be seen taking brochure from him or making conversation with him. I have once happened to see him disappointed but within second he took a big breath and and put on a fierce face and started shouting again.

I can only come out with the reason, passion. To catch the attention. It is better than everyone avoiding him and not listening. Environment and circumstance was different last time. I blame myself for being a coward and couldn't do big things like him. He has my support but... he is not contesting in my current location :s22:
