Cause reddevil0728 借刀杀人(Kill with a borrowed knife) on #15 by using your quote on #14. :s13:

Oh, so you also agreed that derrickgoh’s post validated what I’m trying to say. So I guess Calendar really didn’t get it.

if u say so.

bottomline of this thread's reply by me is as per post #5. Pls indicate in which way is misleading.

if you were to refer to the part, "unless there is a war coming". It doesn't mean only limited by Mindef. Other humanitarian-related services can still be requested by the govt (includ Mindef) seeking for assistance to be rendered isn't? Or are u suggesting that after the statutory age, one can no longer be of any assistance to the public and/or nation's defense?

indeed "unless there is a war coming"...

I asked for clarification in my next post and you replied with

both are still liable depending on the severity and necessity. to be more precise, after ROD u no longer need your equipment, no longer need to notify for Overseas etc. only perhaps the manpower if they are able to get upon govt approval.

bascially all citizens can serve in the nation's defence still.

note the word "liable" and if you are unsure about the actual definition, http://bfy.tw/JOjC

Hi guys I am turning 40 next year, am 3SG. Havent completed full cycle of ICT.

Will I still MR? or ....:s11:

40 years old = MR completed cycle or not.

they will hold your letter until after you are 40. Whether you do 1 ICT or 10, after 40 Mindef cannot call you up again unless you are officer.

in the event of war, do you think the nation will call for as many manpower as possible, and is not only limiting to military?

I think you are conflicting between “liability” based on current legislation and “call for as many manpower as possible”.

Note I did clarify asking you based on current legislation whether there are any of such liability once people hit statutory age.

Really??? Under existing legislations, people are still liable to be called up "depending on severity and necessity" upon ROD? If so which piece of legislation?

Let’s refresh the conversation a little.

Really??? Under existing legislations, people are still liable to be called up "depending on severity and necessity" upon ROD? If so which piece of legislation?

I asked clarifying question earlier on whether existing legislations require people be liable...

You could have possibly suggested martial law, which from my lay understanding of what martial law is, is basically the suspension of ordinary law, so it is definitely arguable (without prejudice, ignore the merits for now whether martial law can indeed impose liability (at least not directly) as I don't think there can be any verifiable constitutional expert here to give the conclusive answer) that martial law may lead to liability at least not directly.

However, you did not raise that point and decided to go on a rampage suggesting people is trolling. So I’m not exactly sure who is the one who is actually trolling and not contributing and when am unable to defend his/her post, decides to revert to the BAU of accusing others of trolling.
