MRT & BTS prepaid pass

I will be going to Bangkok next week, and would like to know is there any MRT and BTS prepaid card for tourist? I saw mention of Rabbit card for BTS, while for MRT there are MRT plus and Mangmoom card. Is it available purchase by tourist?. I will be in Bangkok only for 3 days, and will be using the MRT and BTS to get around, so is it worthwhile getting these prepaid card? Thanks

Edit: Do they sell these cards at DMK, or any MRT and BTS stations?

A Standard Rabbit is 200 Baht in total which includes 100 Baht issuing fee, and 100 initial Stored Value.

for peak period, during places such as siam paragon or terminal 21, there might be a long queue of people purchasing the one way ticket on bts ...

Not only about long queue during busy period, but also to avoid carrying too much loose change. Where can I buy Rabbit card and is the unuse stored value and deposit refundable?

Depend on where you stay? If you stay near BTS line, then buy a rabbit card, save you the trouble of queueing. The remaining sum can use at 7-11. Don't need to refund, but if you want, just refund at any BTS station.

U will need to bring your passport along as they will register the Rabbit card and tag it to your passport no. which I believe is to prevent money laundering.

U can use Rabbit card at a lot of places, and sometimes they will have promotion for e.g. with Mcdonald's, so do consider getting a rabbit card.

Last time I used up the balance in airport's macdonald before I boarded the plane.

Top up don't need to register, unless it is not register. Buy new card need to register.

now they using coins to buy token for the trip right ?

rmb last time if have 20b notes, have to go to the counter queue up and change to coins, then go to the machine and buy the token to enter into the bts ...

Last time buy, so no need to register with passport ...
just like big c card, have more than one, but need to use passport to register ...
like the big c card, sometimes they have good promo, 1200b disc 120b etc ...
