The 5 per cent rise in 2025 is gentler than the increases in 2024 (6 per cent) and 2023 (7 per cent).

Ok, thanks for putting commuters in mind 1st in planning for transport fares 🙏🙏🙏
Lol. Suddenly they forgot the math of compounding?

And they are so proud that they increase every year lol

My frd working in smrt told me they really help us block quite abit because smrt request 1 shot increase quite abit de. I think that's why it become a yearly thing.

So touched and moved for the "fight" and "block"..... did he tell u how much Smrt asked for ?

Maybe like i predicted .. $1.. spread out 10 years every year $0.10 ? 😂

Sinkies need to be grateful la..

SG cannot carry on increasing every thing like this lah.

Where is the loyalty faithful commuters' benefits who everyday without fail take to and fro public transport?

LTA must take steps to come up with loyalty fare programme or rebates for faithful commuters. Eg if 1 week whole stretch everyday take at least 2x or 3x bus or mrt, next week rebate 1 free travel on any selected public transport mode.

I still don’t understand how it all works. Fares don’t go directly to smrt or sbs under the new financing model right? How come they can still ask for fare increase?

Quite little compared to Japan.

Japan reliability while good, trains r often packed and frequency isn’t that good. Lastly, rain coverage is bad at above ground stations.
