may also want to go down challenger to hands on and hear the speakers, been checking around the internet and seems like the dynaudio is quite good.. heehee

in a noisy environment like challenger i dont know if you will be able to hear the speakers, I doubt people will let you plug in your audio playlist and test the display unit on the spot...

wow! you really know a lot! tks tks!

hopefully can find a good deal for ge60 during show, the price below 2k also just nice for my budget! but then the higher specs model 2pe is only $2199 with better graphics, not sure if i would just go for it or not..

i think for me i won't be needing ssd but then again i don't see ssd option for either the msi or asus models? both of them also can add ssd?

The only difference in 2PC and 2PE model is graphics card and wide viewing angle screen
Simple overlock on GTX 850M can get the same performance as GTX 860M easily
Tbh the 2PC more worth it IMO
It's not like last time where the higher model got better wireless card, backlit keyboard etc

SSD is mainly for fast boot up only
I'm not sure if those retails shop able to the upgrade
But if you're buying from PC Dreams you can pay $60 and ask them to install new SSD and OS on it

Has the GE60. Touchpad isn't the best, left side of keyboard gets a tad warm under gaming sessions, battery life only last me 2hrs or so. Gaming wise, pretty good. 45+ under normal conditions, 80 under load.

Is it safe to overclock a laptop GPU ? What about the increased heat and power use ?

Yeah, I have been overclocking my GE60 0NC (2012 model) for 1 year+
Highest temperature when gaming after overclocking is 75 degree celcius
It's very stable, no crashing and auto shutdown despite using the laptop 8-15 hours daily
I just recently put mSATA on it + change the thermal paste with Arctic MX-4
Now the highest temperature is 67 degree celcius
If never overclock highest temperature is 63 degree celcius

sorry to hijack this thread but im also considering between MSI GS60 ghost, asus g56jr or g550jk. I like the GS60 for its light weight. since both asus are heavier than 2kg.

i dont game as much anymore but would like to know the general performance comparisons of these 3 if anybody can help. batt life all that, heating issues under loading (doesnt have to be gaming, can be intensive graphics app etc)

New price for Comex coming ...Heard it's $1699 for GE60 2PC.

I think GTX 850M is much better than GTX 760M

3DMark 2011 Pscore
GTX 850M : 4473
GTX 760M : 3369

Abt 30% gap...

Actually considering GE60 2PE / GS60 2PC
with GTX 860M graphic, which 3DMARK 11 P Score about 5000

And, most important of all, with IPS/ PLS wide view panel !
Much better than normal FHD TN panel ~~

Will check at Comex see if any special offer !
