MSI GTX980 TI performance issues.

Hello there!

Not relatively good with computers so I'd like to ask for some thoughts.
My current rig specs:

GPU: MSI GTX980TI
Processor: Intel Core i5-3470
8GB Ram


Running Windows 10.

I've tried running a few games like CSGO, Hitman : Absolution, Crysis 3 and Borderlands 2 and noticed some performance issues that don't really tally with online benchmarks. A few fps differences I wouldn't mind but I noticed specifically on hitman I was performing at about 50fps lesser than most online reviews.

CSGO:

Game runs fine with some screen tearing here and there.

Hitman Absolution:
On Max settings with 8x MSAA, here are the details

Min fps 54
maximum fps 81
average fps 65

Online reviews get an average of more or less a 100fps.

Borderlands 2:

This game performs the worst out of all the games i've tried.
Can barely achieve 60fps on medium settings in some fights and the screen tearing is the worst here. Don't know why.

Wolfenstein : The New Order

Wolfenstein runs fine. Minor issues with screen-tearing.


Crysis 3

Max settings, Runs smoothly. Maybe about 10-15 fps under most review fps scores.


Any takers as to what could be wrong?
Could it possibly be bottlenecking?

There is nothing wrong with your card. Just settings.

There is nothing wrong with your card. Just settings.

I used the same exact settings as this review for Hitman:

Even changed it to High settings, 2x MSAA, Just like the review and I'm still nowhere close to achieving their frame-rate

Then it is high likely the benchmark test equipment being used.

Remember all this benchmarks can never get the same as your i5-3470.

There are things to consider such as,

RAM clocked at 2133mhz, i7-5960X that has been overclocked. Also things to consider whether the game is CPU intensive.

If you really think that there is a performance issue, then do a quick Firestrike, Firestrike Extreme, and Ultra benchmark from 3DMark and post a screenshot here.

Are you running the same resolution?
Most benchmark runs at 1080p.
