MSI vs Sapphire? rx580

hi there.. i would like to ask why there's like $30 difference between MSI Gaming X rx 580 vs Sapphire nitro+ rx 580 (non LE) ?

is it because of fan noise in MSI which i read it up on other site
or is it because sapphire rx580 have more power to OC stuff ? because of the additional 6 pin while MSI only have 1x8pin ?

Edit : let's say i don't really care about OC or anything .. should i just get RX 580 MSI instead of Sapphire ? with that $30 add to other parts budget?

Whichever cheaper. Would go MSI for 3 years warranty vs Sapphire 2 years if I'm not wrong.

Also, Radeon cards don't oc that well vs GeForce GTX. So the added power connector, ain't helping much IRL.

On a side note: why buying rx 580 when the price don't really justify the performance? Gtx 1060 6gb is better and cheaper.

Well....I'm guessing you are paying 5xx? Rather you get a gtx1070 instead

Alternatively, get a gtx 1060 6gb at a significantly cheaper price and similar performance compared to rx580s

the reason i go for AMD is for the amd freesync monitor.. generally i got think of gtx 1060, but they don't do really well on DX12 games .. and about gtx 1070 it's out of my price that's why i thinking of getting rx 580 with freesync monitor instead ..

i know the price doesn't justify the performance, but still want to know why $30 difference..

if what other forums reported is true that MSI gaming X on rx 580 heat up easily is true.. then i wouldn't mind going for sapphire instead..

edit : i only go for 1080p instead of 1440p or 4k .. so there's no reason for me to get 1060 or higher

I think it depends on the price. Due to high demand for RX 580/570 series for mining, the price is also way above it's worth. In some cases, the price is not too far away from a GTX 1070, and the GTX 1070 steam rolls over the fastest RX 580 that you can possibly find, with ease.l, regardless of DX 11 or 12. AMD's Polaris and Vega performs well only in very limited and selective games if you go through the reviews online. It is not about DX12, but about a game maker utilizing the A-Sync feature in DX 12 that will make AMD hardware shine.

If you insist on getting an RX 580, just go for the cheapest. MSI's warranty is longer than Sapphire's.

My take is that u can't go wrong with Sapphire on AMD GPU for most of the time. As I still have a Sapphire 6950. And it's working well and fine for current moba games.

My take is that u can't go wrong with Sapphire on AMD GPU for most of the time. As I still have a Sapphire 6950. And it's working well and fine for current moba games.

I don't deny that Sapphire is a good brand. But considering the price difference of 30 bucks and 1 year less warranty, I feel MSI is a superior choice. Morever, it is the Gaming X series, so I think it will also be a well built card.

Still, the freesync don't justify the purchase of the 580. Improvement is so minimal, it doesn't make up for the 70-100 dollars more compared to gtx 1060.

Since you have the budget, suggest to ts follow what synchronicity said, wait qoo10 coupon hoot the gtx 1070 for the same price tier as the 580.

I bought an expensive rx580 for freesync + ryzen matching too which after a while it doesn't matter its just icing on top. No massive screen tearing on 144hz display.

Only regret i play most dx11 games which I could get bit more fps on nvidia so if i could turn back time i will buy gtx1060 instead.
