By the way, why isit phasing out? Thought the price is good for its specs, and its ligher?

newer model like 9cell coming in, due to demand
older model like 6cell going out..

:s13:

but overall specs are 100% the same just that battery is different :)

then i probably drop by Funan and grab any 6cell set, price shouldnt differ too much right?

from what i experienced, i went both places yesterday

$699 is what i get from funan (1gb ram 6cell )

dont try ur luck at funan, there canot bargain price at all~

sls have to becareful, some shops are stating 1gb ram with 6cell set at $680-690 too

bottomline: get from MediaMart 9cell set (2gb ram), its very reasonable and cheap already :)

usage wise, i was installing programs, and browser.. etc and update windows..

6hr 71% gone is because the battery did not reach its optimal performance yet, haven't really do an initial charge...

:s13:

yup frm media mart

updated:

frm 3pm until now..

49mins and 15% remaining (i have not plugged in the ac adapter since i unboxed and the initial startup, installing of windows really took quite a long time)

Think it depends on the batch...
Mine is April 09 batch - Black 6 cell S/N 834SGK0904-----. Sticker still the old one. If I am not wrong 9 cell ones come with the new sticker. Also the wordings "MSI Wind Netbook is missing from the top left had corner of my netbook. See my pics...

I heard so many different versions like charge for 8 hours, let the battery drain then charge, etc... If you shut down and charge, the charging should stop once the batt is full...

Oh ya and another thing, my HDD is Fujitsu one... I thought that most Wind comes with WD or Hitachi.... strange that I got a Fujitsu HDD

:s13: so many myths about battery but i read the instruction manual/user manual it says the battery does not have memory effect so it's unnecessary to discharge it before charging it..

mine is Hitachi...

Keep it at 40% and store it. Some suggest refrigerator. But cool places can le.
Li Ion will die down. So after years down the road. The battery life will dwindle.
