The idea behind having two partiton, one for OS and one for data is to minimize the possibility of losing your data in the event your operating system is corrupted.

Imagine this, you have only one drive and you have important data on it. Suddenly one day when you power on the system, it shows you a blue screen and you cannot recover it.

You have attempt to re-install directly without formatting but it does not work. The only option is to format the hard drive and re-install the OS. However if you format the hard drive you will lose all the data.

The other alternative is to remove the hard drive, install into an external hard drive casing and plug it into another computer. But for the Wind, we cannot remove the hard drive without voiding the warranty, and it is not easily removed as we have to take out the whole back cover.

Am thinking to get a netbook for my wife. Considering between this Wind 100+ and Asus EEE 1000HE. Asus is abit cheaper but it is 10.2 inches while wind 100+ is only 10 inches? Asus is led backlight, what about wind 100+?
