The promo pic above have indicated 6 cells last up to 7 hrs and 9 cells last up to 10 hrs.

with 3 cell battery => Approx 1 kg
with 6 cell battery => Approx 1.2 kg
with 9 cell battery => Approx 1.4 kg

With the 9 cell battery, I think you no need to bring your ac adapter around.
For the software, it comes with some Wind games and 60 days Trial of Microsoft Office and Norton Internet Security. Cheers.
