just purchased a blue msi u100+ yesterday afternoon.
a great machine...so far no problems...

however, i notice that the warranty sticker beneath the machine has been poked and there are 2 screws missing last night. suspect that they forgot to replace after upgrading to 2gd ram.

will be going down to suntec again to see how to solve it.
so for those who intends to buy the msi wind, do check the screws and warranty sticker.
else will be like me, need to go down again

Hi bro,

Sorry for the inconvenience. :o

The 2Gb ram is still there?

If you're not going to Suntec today, you can come to our office in AMK tmr. Sorry again.

Cheers. :o

Those having wifi problem for msi wind can try this for their wifi problem.
This problem has been highlighted on the forum i think before.

From the start menu: You need to go into Control Panel -> click on the icon "System" -> click on the "Hardware" Tab -> click on "Device Manager" button -> Open the "Network Adapters" from the list -> Click on "802.11bgn 1T2R Mini Card Wireless Adapter -> Click on the "Advanced" Tab

This is a very nice card in that it has a great deal of features. There are a slew of powersaving features and unfortuneately one seems to be incompatible with the Wind. Once the card goes off the MSI cannot turn it back on without a reboot. So do the following to disable the power saving features...

AC_BE support APSD - choose Disable
AC_BK support APSD - choose Disable
AC_VI support APSD - choose Disable
AC_VO support APSD - choose Disable

CAM - stands for Constant Awake Mode which is what we want so do the following....

CAM when AC Power - choose Enable
Power saving Mode - choose CAM

Hope that helps!

used my gf's PINK WIND for a few hours and it is very good overall

except for the hyper-sensitive touchpad that i keep brushing my thumb over when i type

manage to solve the issue by dling a newer driver for it, that enables the adjustment of:

- disable touch-click
- disable touchpad when typing
- scroll horizontal (default only vertical)

Don't be cork, ask starhub why their dongle is so big when my M1 dongle is so nice and small.

I also bought a set of the MSI Wind U100+. Its a damn good machine if you ask me, much much better than my previous Asus EeePC 901. The curves and the feel of the set is very good. The touchpad and buttons feel better than that on the EeePC too. Battery life is comparable to the 901, also another 6 cells. The MSI wind is so much more responsive than the 901 probably due to the HDD instead of SSD.

Overall, its a damn good buy for me, $588 with 2GB and 6 cells.

I tried the wifi, no issues for me. Come on and off properly. I also tried with my M1 mobile boardband, best experience. Both are god-sent, if only the MSI Wind come with its own internal modem for 3G then it will be perfect.

Hi, have anyone try to install Canon Zoombrowser on the U100+?

I tried to install by clicking onthe Setup file but got the following error :

"The screen resolution to execute Digital Camera Solution Disk is not
sufficient"

Tried to change the settings higher than 1024x600 by changing the display was option 1. (PNP monitor) to option 2 (Default monitor) and then changing the settings but saving will NOT save the new settings.

Pls advise on how I can overcome this problem. Thanks!

I am not talking about the wind but the fact that you whine about the USB ports when most lappy have side by side USB ports so there is no point in complaining about it. Just use the extension for the dongle if you need it.

You probably need to install MSI software which control the extra function keys, download from MSI website.

anyone know how much is the 3 cell battery cost?

is it suitable for Wind U100 Plus?

TIA

Have you seen it for sale in stores outside? Try asking in corebell sub forums, they might have the answers to your questions.

Hi all,

i have problem connecting to the wireless at my home. My own laptop has no problems, but the MSI can detect 'excellent' signal, but always 'Limited or no connectivity', so can't go online at all.. anyone else has this problem?
