My batt for one week only, wore 6%.
But now it's staying constant over at 6%.

Last up to 9 hours when idle; fully charged , on Windows Vista.

how to last so long??

mine is 6 cell U100+...

only last around 4 hours on full charge with wifi on...

is it my batt got problem??

also just a quesntion... if i were to do a fresh installation of window 7..

will the msi hidden partition get wiped out? meaning if i next time wan to do a recovery then will it still work?

I cleared my HDD's MBR, hence everything is cleared.

Usually if I'm not wrong, installing clean Windows will overwrite/ erase the recovery partition of MSI. Not sure about the case below.

6 cell should last 5 hours or around there, depends on your usage, and how you take care of your battery.

After installing Windows 7 on my wind U100, there is no option to restore back to Windows XP using the F3 recovery method.

How can I restore my OS back to Windows XP? Thanks!

You wiped the whole hard disk including the recovery partition? If so, of course you won't get to recover via pressing F3 during bootup.

There are recovery discs provided in the package, you may require an external dvd drive though.

Hi fellas, i have got two questions to ask.

I tried to enable EIST (Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology) on my Wind U100. Even though i have set the power properties to specify that the computer is to hibernate after 30 mins, i noticed recently that after i closed the lid, the computer will sleep but the sleep LED will continue to flash i.e. sleep indefinitely. In the past, the sleep LED will stop blinking say after 30 mins which i think it means that the computer has went to hibernate mode. Anyone noticed this? I am on 1.09 BIOS btw.

Everytime i start up my computer from sleep/hibernate in NUS, my wireless adaptor takes a very long to connect to OpenNUS wireless network. I have tried to download the latest wireless driver for my wireless module which is a Ralink RT2700E (MS-6890). Most of the time i will be very frustrated as the wireless adaptor takes a long to obtain an IP address e.g. 5~10 mins. When i use ipconfig /renew in command prompt, the error that is shown is that the DHCP server can't be reached. Anyone from NUS have this problem?

I usually test the wireless fidelity by using my E71 at the same. Most of the times my E71 is unable to get a response from the gateway i.e. router also but out of 10 times, maybe 2 occasions my E71 is able to browsed and my MSI Wind can't.

My understanding is that the DHCP server is built into the gateway so that the router can assign IP addresses to all WLAN devices so i am not too sure whether it is my wireless module at fault.

A common error displayed by my computer is "limited or no connectivity"

Please advise

Okay i will answer my own query above in case someone has the same problem(s) as i have described previously. For NUS users who didn't purchase a computer from NUS i.e. don't have automated access to NUS domains, you should take note that NUS has changed their network profile from LEAP to PEAP. Thus consequentially, you should create a network profile to allow you to connect to NUS Open using the PEAP protocol.

For users on Win XP, there is a XPPeap.exe that you can download from Comcen downloads page which will automatically create a Peap network profile in your computer.

For users on Win Vista, there is a step by step guide which you can download from the same page as well.

I remember that there is something that Mac OS users can download as well. Just check it out.
