was so looking forward to build using this mobo until I read this

is it true about MSI boards?
Have been using MSI with Intel for the longest time and I don't have any issues with it.
This will be my first with AMD ..

Rubbish. Probably just another hater or something.

It is only true during the am3 era. Where their boards have very high chance to have capacitors being bloated and some boards.

Their vrms were mostly found in those major 4 brands out there in selective boards.

Check out the tear down that i have done in my profile.

Most brands are using vrms from on semicon, texas, international rectifier these days. So i dont expect brands to differ widely from each individual vrm being used.

What vrms are being used in intel have been used in amd boards before. So it should not differ in any ways.

X470 Gaming Plus is quite a decent board

It is one grade up from the A Pro series

Cheap and Good category

I have helped a friend build his PC with R5 2600X and this MSI X470 Gaming Plus board.

The board VRM is decent and nothing to worry about. The heatsink on it also covers the hot components according to Buildziod who has done a quick breakdown on the board.

The RAM support is also great. runs 3200 for 2*8GB sticks of Corsair Dominator Rams at rated speeds using XMP.

The board is pretty budget friendly and the audio quality, the lan, the pcie slots are made pretty decent.

Overall, a nice price to performance board for new 2nd gen Ryzen CPUs.

In a sense, yes. You can try your luck overclocking to 2933mhz, quite likely to succeed actually.

3600mhz, very unlikely to succeed for Ryzen though. Even for 2nd gen, still quite hard.

So far so good ...
UNTIL installing win7.
This board need ps2 ... PS2!!! ... aaaagh
Do not have any ps2 peripherals ...
any remedies hardware gurus? ...

Is not just this board. So long as you try to install win7, you wont be able to use the native usb other than ps2.

Best is go for windows 10. Google windows media creation tool. Do it on a working laptop or desktop. This software will get the latest windows 10 build and flash it into a thumbdrive. Make sure that you do it on at least 8gb thumbdrive.

Once done you should be able to run and boot windows 10. Get a cd key, buy it and key in.

No reason to install windows 7 these days, unless you have a specific use for it.
