My first mountain hike last August.
5th - 8.5th Station lodge in 4 hours and arrived at 2pm.
I experienced very very mild headache & didn't take medication.
An elderly lady was breathless at the lodge & put on oxygen machine.
Slept at 8 pm till midnight after a 5pm dinner .
The long rest & good rest at 8.5th lodge helped me.
Queued up for a slow climb at 1am +.
'Ran down' in 2 hours at 6 am .

lol.. think my plan also will be that also.

This needs prescription.
Why do you think you need it for this <4K meter hike ?
Buy one cheaper oxygen bottle at 5th Station.

Go early & 'acclimatize' 1 hour at 5th station before
the long walk up.
Do slow climb ( 6 hours ? ), rest in front of every lodges 15 minutes before next hike.
By reaching 8 or 8.5 station lodge early , you have more time to get used to the high attitude.
Have a decent dinner & rest well before 1 am up.

Early bird gets a better / quiet far corner at the lodge !

need doctor prescription?

I also climbed solo, fujinomiya route. Can have breakfast or lunch for 1hour while acclimitazing. Oxygen tank is 1.5k at 5th station but 1k at station 6. Gets more expensive after that.

Took slow climb with 20min rest between each station, no altitude sickness. Just freaking cold. Take note of bus return timings, I missed one by a few minute and had to wait 4-5hours for the next one.

Best to arrive early and slowly climb, some inns don't accept people too late which is 6pm or something. The hardest part has got to be the final climb in the dark, the steep slope up to the summit. Many people slipped there or crawled up. Most people even fell and slide down when going down.

How many days did you spent climbing to summit and back to ground?
