MTR Train HK to GZ

Hi.

I'm travelling to HK and GZ in early Nov. I would like to find out it if it easier to buy the train ticket in advance online or through the ticket counter when I'm there.

If I were to buy in advance, do I collect the train ticket for both way (HK to GZ and GZ to HK) at Hung Hom Train Station?

FYI you can only buy online 1 month max prior to actual days so November trip in October

Ya thanks for the info but where do I collect the ticket from? Example, Do I collect the HK to GZ ticket at HK and GZ to HK ticket at GZ?

You can collect the ticket to Guangzhou at Hung Hom, but it is not clear if you can collect the return ticket there as well. Call to check?

Bought the tickets already. The instruction given was to collect all the tickets at Hong Kong.

For those who are buying ticket online, please remember to activate your credit card for overseas use first. I forgot and I was charged 2 times (first for an unsuccessful transaction and second for successful transaction) and refund later at an unfavourable exchange rate. So I had to pay extra SGD10 for 2 tickets :/

There are many coach services between the 2.
https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/hongkong/transportation/bus.htm among others.
There are also ferries between HK and ports like Lianhuashan, Panyu and Nansha. Not in the middle of Guangzhou, but these are really suburbs of Guangzhou and Guangzhou is a very big city.
