Ah Mu not only wanted to cut off Singapore, but he also wanted to extend the HSR to Bangkok.

He sees investment opportunities from Thailand rather than Singapore. In another word, he thinks the Thai or the investor will come from the North.

Don't think he is thinking right. Investment flow usually is from the rich to the poor and from countries that have little land for expansion with high labor costs to countries that have bigger land to accommodate such expansion and have lower labor costs and plenty of manpower. Between Malaysia and Thailand, Malaysia will lose more investment to Thailand rather than gaining investment from Thailand. Maybe he is an ex-agent from Thailand?

Actually singapore doesn't need to be involved.

Whoever uses the HSR just pay the charges.

It's not going to be much cheaper just because our government comes out some money initially.
After building the HSR in Malaysia it is up to them to charge whatever amount they want. We totally have no say as it is in their land.
