This is unfortunately, but there's only been 1 or 2 such deaths since USB chargers came into widespread use, with probably more than a billion users. So I think this is statistically insignificant, no need to worry about it. I'm sure more people are killed in bicycle accidents, and yet no one warns you to stay away from bicycles.

If you bring the wrong one or didn't bring any, you can easily buy a multiplug from a Taiwanese budget shop (similar to our ABC or $2 shops) which are quite easy to find.

I wonder how difficult it is in this day and age to find out (from the internet) what sort of electrical socket, voltage, supply frequency is used in Taiwan, and then bring the appropriate plug so that one's holiday can be a little more fuss-free...

Actually, one doesn't even need to find out anything if one brings 5 little plugs : 2 pin flat (US style), 2 pin slanted(Aussie style), 2 pin round Europlug, 3 pin UK, and 3 pin flat slanted China plug ( which is optional since most parts of China will also accept 2 pin flat/round plugs).

Between them, you can practically fit the sockets of any country.

I bring a multi plug 1 to 5.
Just 1 plug head for Taiwan electrical port can liaoz.

hahaha I suppose you are right, though it seems like an excessive number of plugs to carry I have a dislike for adapter plugs, so I usually customize my extension cords for the country I am visiting.
