must see places

what are some must see places in taiwan?

i visited in april, blogged about a couple of places, you can go search 'taiwan' in my blog and the relevant posts will come up.

what kind are you looking at? sightseeing? shopping? nature?

How long are you going for, with whom?

I love alishan a lot. Taroko Gorge is very nice as well. I think you should not miss these two places.

Just came back from Taipei. I will give my two cents on Taipei alone only then.

Mao Kong - Cable car up to appreciate/buy tea
Taipei 101 - Not necessary to go up unless you're willing to spend 500 TWD per adult
Night Markets - Preferred Shilin, Raohe, Miaokou, Ningxia and Shida(slightly smaller). Didn't like Huaxi NM as they're famous for snake blood shots
Shopping - XMD & Wu Fen Pu(like Bugis Street), u might want to check out ZhongXiaoDongLu area for shopping malls like SOGO departmental stores (branded goods)
Museums - They have a lot of museums in taipei! Visited only 1 - Guo Fu Ji Nian Guan
Scenery - Dan Shui Yu Ren Ma Tou (Fisherman's wharf) a very romantic place for couples, something like our singapore river

Will be going there 1st time. Spend 8 days 7 nights. it is ok to spend all in Taipei ?
