The cooling on the X17 and X17s is not too different from what I understand. Some difference only as Marcus mentioned, there are already seals to ensure the airflows out of the case.
The GTX 780M is no def faster than the 680M with more CUDA cores and higher clockspeed. But I am very sure it also runs hotter as the TDP is higher by about 20% estimated. I am sure the cooling is capable of handling the heat, just a little curious how hot it can get.

Haha no problem, its like how you would stress test a exp car or camera first, expect the warranty to cover daily task and once in a while trashing, which is the very first reason we would part that lump sum of moolah.
Which i suspect, they've amped up the cooling structure OR method of effective cooling via fan control or pipes as mentioned.
Going by the TDP i would expect 780m to indeed run hotter, or at least cause the fans to spin faster and louder compared to last year's clevo machines. My poor legacy system (still on fermi here) hits 96-97 celsius max on kombustor's GPU burn in test and can hit as high as 91 celsius on Skyrim. Still, cooling-wise, I think Clevo has already made most of the optimisations to the design in this generation, now they need to sort out the EC fan table hopefully so that fans don't sound so loud even when the temperatures are nowhere near max load.
Thats where, i think, the current 700 series shine, they have more leeway of maintain that load close to 80% or 90%, yet able to cool down as fast if not much faster than previous system.
But yea, fermi was all the rage literally in temp and performance
EC fan table, dont think clevo [ or who ever the manufacturer/ bios maker ] would be too on-the-ball regarding that, now that they've established themselves, rarely do they change unless forced to. Which, they are slowly forgetting what landed them the money in the first place, folks who like to tune and tinker, squeezing every ounce of performance and cooling, yet still respectable in presentation and comparable for price and cost.
