MyRepublic, can you guys please consider taking to Asiasoft about the ip bonus features again please? I signed up because of that feature and now it's gone. I really hope you guys can probably negotiate some terms with Asiasoft regarding this issue thanks.

Wow, yesterday i just tried the new live chat service. Guess what? Its not any different from all of them.
Yesterday night the live chat cso told me office ours were already off.. He cant check my issue out so will reply me today by email

He was also sure and confident to email back to me, even after i told him the issue has been dragging on.

Until now i receive no email.. So i guess the new live chat support is as useless too.

And up till now issue not resolve..

Serious question. Not being sarcastic.

I think this MR is not stable at all. very risky signing up with them.

doesn't law require them to offer us what the contract stipulated? they arentfulfilling their end of the contract and shouldn't it mean we do not have to pay them for a complete performance?

While most of the users who went to the 1gbps service opt for the RT-AC68U, I selected the lesser RT-AC56U instead. With the latest firmware, I ran into the same infamous issue of low throughput speed. For my case it was "capped" at 300~314mbps.

After speaking to MR live chat.. surprisingly was rather fast unlike what some other users encountered. Solomon came into the chat and assist with the testing and we concluded that it could be the ASUS firmware causing this "cap". While upgrading the latest and best firmware is the usual practices, I decided to paddle backwards and try from the older firmware and I did find one which did not face this issue.

For the RT-AC56U, the version unaffected is 3.0.0.4.374_583. For those using this router you might try out this firmware if yours isn't already shipped with one. It is noted that the elder RT-AC68U shares the same code base and there is the same version of the firmware available for download and if anyone is free, do give it a try and see if the low throughput issue resolve a not.

Flashed Tomatousb firmware (with CTF enabled) on AC68 and here is the speedtest result via router. Tomatousb gives you bandwidth usage on daily/weekly /monthly basis.

Test via router to HK server

I am also using the ASUS RT-AC56U but did not encounter the 300Mbps cap.

just sharing my experience.

i am using N66U flashed to Merlin, before upgrading to 1Gbps everything was fine on my network.
but, soon after upgrading, i kept getting disconnection and speed cap issues.

my wan kept disconnecting every 2-3 hours and it would take more than 3 minutes to the the signal back. (doesnt happen when connected directly to ONT)
and my speed gets capped at 95mbps every now and then.
capped only gets resolved after reboot of router.
initially i had thought it was the firmware upgrade i performed for the router right after the plan upgrade so i downgrade the firmware and monitor again.

still the the problems persists.
i then called MR to check my line, nope, nothing wrong with the network.

concluding that problem is on the router since lights on the ONT are always on and green when things gets interrupted. i went into the log of the router hoping to find the reason. not surprising, i do not understand a thing. so, what I did next was.

clear the log, reboot the router for a fresh log, after reboot, waited for the disconnection to happen then post the log on smallbuildernet where Merlin host his firmware discussion. received his reply within a day IIRC.

problem was a damaged cable from ONT to router.
i replaced it and all's well now.

the thing i wanna share here is.
sometimes, even the simplest change can make a huge difference.
users experiencing problems can try changing cables to see if it helps.

sorry for being wordy, i just woke up

After I updated my ASUS RT-AC56U firmware to the latest version 3.0.0.4.374_5656, my download speed seems to stay around 740-770 Mbps.
