Guys, you must also make sure that your NIC can go support link speed above 100Mbps.

Just saying...

Anyway, I'm still waiting for MR to call. It's like we chase them and they taichi the blame to Open Net..

Thanks for reminder. Lol I had that issue initially. Couldn't realise why my testing all cannot go higher. Bought myself the thunderbolt to ethernet. I can work wonders now.

But now I got 2 thunderbolt to ethernet adapter. Just bought a new macbook air, didn't notice i buy again. sigh. worse thing is it didnt happen to just the thunderbolt to ethernet. i also got thunderbolt to hdmi arghhh so many extras.

I'm quite suprised about how can this question be asked.

---> The story is

During day time (Non-Peak Hours)
Using [speedtest.myrepublic.com.sg] and [speedtest.net telin server] to perform a simple bandwidth test; the result is that both are giving SAME RESULTS (Take note of the capital letters because I really am SHOUTING)

During night time (Peak Hours)
Using the the same method [speedtest.myrepublic.com.sg] and [speedtest.net telin server] to perform another simple bandwidth test. THE RESULTS VARY HUGELY!

if it is a setupp problem. why the hell in the day time works so well that i can sing praises to non-peak hours usage, but come peak hours suddenly it's our setup got issue

I dont mind if it's only one subscriber having such an issue, but SERIOUSLY if there is already a handfull of subscribers who are experiencing the same issue. Please go and reflect why would you believe the subscribers gang up and "create" a story. Please just hurry and go do your own testing. I'm sure you can check your employee list and see who lives in the North of Singapore. Go to their place and check ASAP if you dont have. I OFFER MY HOME FIBRE CONNECTION POINT FOR YOUR TESTING!

This one probably is Congestion at their pipelines midway la..

Example

EU -> Carrier Grade NAT -> MR network -> MR Speedtest -> Pipeline -> Peering

So technically until MR Speedtest you have full speed, but their pipeline out to their peers locally is probably cheap stuff/congested :s13::s13::s13:

Does anyone use download manager to download stuff? Instead of playing speedtests? Coz i can hit 12.5mb/s if the server allows. My 1080p youtube still decent.

Im on 100mbps plan. Try using download manager to see if it helps.

Yup Yup!!! that should be done. from the start my complaints and first conclusion is the throttling (limiting bandwidth) cos whenever you surf the web you'll need to do finger exercise (spamming the F5 button) then you can get the page you require. But if you realise, you can actually surf youtube.com (might get a little difficulty in choosing a video but once you select a video and it plays, it kinda moves smoothly). hence my conclusion to throttling.

every ***** night, same problem, I thought got temp fix until can find permanent solution? MyRepublic playing dragging game?

I really feel like calling bank to dispute payment with MR until they can give us a satisfactory solution, most of the time we are working, we are unable to make full use of the "1gbps" they "promised and advertised", the question now is, why are we paying for service that is deemed to be below standard? Isn't this cheating customer? :O

Before any of you starts to question me about anything, I've done all everything listed below.
1st question: lan or Wi-Fi, ans: LAN GIGABIT CAT6
2nd question: what router?, ans: R7000 NIGHTHAWK
3rd question: speedtest results to them, ans: sent and given, (BOTH direct ONT AND ROUTER- NO DIFF)
4th question: temporary solution to help alleviate the problem, ans: why is it still having problem now?
5th question: when will it finally "work"?

  1. When was your installation date?
  2. Did you receive any email from MR regarding Maintenance Schedule?

the emails that I received from them was to ask me to do more speedtest via THEIR OWN SERVER. They want to disregards all speedtests done on telin or whatever server outside of their own. They have already acknowledged that this problem is affecting "some" of their customers and have prepared measures to alleviate the situation until a more permanent fix is devised. I'm not paying for something "broken" that you advertised to work, so you mean, I'm paying for you to experiment with their network? As a ISP, I believe they have some form of SLA with the governing authority such as IDA, if still no solution, I going IDA. I know some people inside personally.

They still can tell me in spirit of transparency, we would let you guys to know that yes there are indeed problems in their network, they say that they are seeing packet loss at certain time period, particularly during peak hours. Well, after all that's said and done, where's the fix?

I went to the website just now and I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this

Experience the only 1Gbps ultra-fast fibre broadband designed for gamers by gamers, with lower latency via our optimised custom routes to overseas game servers.

1Gbps advertised, reality = 10Mbps
Gamers? more like quit gaming?
Lower latency, oh yeah right, 3000ms?

As of Wednesday, 15 October 2014 (10:52PM)

Guys, I'm actually very thankful that at least my web surfing still works.
Thank you MyRepublic.

Btw guys, please do yourself a favour.
For future advertising or marketing, do not claim you are the fastest anymore.
You guys are now known to many as the slowest in Singapore. My legacy SingNet 10Mbps running on ADSL could WoW without any issue.

Even came up with something for you guys.
MyRepublic, world's first ISP that makes you quit going online anymore!

Same issue. No issues with WoW while i was on singnet 100mbps. MR wth is wrong?

my holy light latency using quartz to report is somewhere between 1000-3000ms. Don't talk about dungeon or doing dailies. I can't even heal myself properly.

ping latency (15ms) and ratio of download against upload is horrible right now! :) 10-20Mbps download against 100-110 Mbps upload speed. currently on 300Mbps package. calling tech support now but seems everyone is calling them for the same reason.

seems based on the thread more and more are getting the same problem. i wonder how many parts of this thread will be created. MyRepublic fibre - Part 4 seems is very dramatic, hopefully the season ender for this will have a happy ending for all. Trace routes are not giving good results as well.

on older plan, no problems at all, minus the hiatus when they doing updates and stuff, btw, didn't they hear this before? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

ever since upgraded to new plan, Twitch.tv doesn't work, constant buffering. Okay nvm, I don't even watch twitch anymore. Then now game starts to lag, spike and constant high ms in game, apprx 1k to 3000ms. K fk it, not gonna game anymore.

Now sometimes, even web surfing slows down significantly, even surfing hwz. Jesus, this is a local site, it's not even foreign site, yet we see signs of slowdown even on local site. What's the next course of action for me to do now? Quit surfing? :O
