can you kindly give me the channels you are watching, so a fair comparison can be done

I was watching Amaz just now when he was streaming.
Currently watching Synergy league. No problem so far. Prior to today, I couldn't even stream properly on medium.

Lol, normal... I think best way is to contact nivek.. At least he is more responsive than their CSO. My issue was settled in a matter of days.

I couldn't get my Static IP to work so I am not sure if the settings I got 2 years is still valid.

Dear MyRepublic admin,

More than two years ago, I took the leap and signed up with you guys and never looked back. Thumbs up for the first period.

During the recent COMEX show in late August 2014, the contractual period was up and it was time again to reconsider. I did it in good faith as I found little need to call up for tech issues and also the customer service was responsive and delivered.

It was a huge mistake right from the word "GO" when I signed on 29th August. It was the 2nd day at the COMEX show and even the full time staff did not seem to know what was going on etc. It was hassle with multiple screw ups since then.

Let me focus only the latest happenings.

Since signing up on 29th August, no one from MR called me up (nor emailed) to confirm when the upgrade to 1Gbps will start. After six weeks, I finally got through, they checked and told me that I needed to change hardware, OpenNet needed to do something at my place and it was not as simple as flicking a few switches at their back end. I had a static IP address facility which meant I had to configure a range of my other home devices too, this was ALL not put forth to me earlier again.

So I was given a few choices to choose my OpenNet appointment, chose one and then provided to apply leave from work so that the guy could come down to do what they needed to do. ONE day before this appointment, I received a call from MR to inform me that OpenNet was not coming down as scheduled and the reason given was that OpenNet did not install enough fibre initially at my block (to support 1Gbps) and it was no use even if they had showed up. Although MR said they would revert before end of day on 20th Oct, they have not done yet.

In the meantime, I am shocked to discover two things:

One:
When I login to MR, I am already on ULTRA Plan @ 1Gbps when absolutely nothing can been done.

Two:
As I was on GIRO, there was a deduction of S$199.99 in September. I went to check further and it seems that there was no billing done by MR Accounts in August for the regular S$59.90. MR then emailed to apologise about it and said that they will hold the excess amount as “prepayment“ without my consent.

Here are my reasonable expectations:

One
Sort out the issue with OpenNet asap and lets agree on a deadline. MR has been offering the 1Gbps plan for months now, I do not believe this is a new unexcepted problem which the customer should be kept in the dark for weeks.

Two
Refund the excess monies immediately, you did not seek consent to hold it in the first place and thus, your decision to do so was rather high-handed.

You may contact me using my details in your databse. CID:C1004270

Thanks.

If your on the new 1Gbps static plan, the IP address previous provided will be invalid. MR implemented DHCP based static IP assignment determined by your ONT and thus no additional configuration is required on the router end. Personal experience, when connecting a different router to the new ONT, it can take a while for it to warm up to the new equipment to issue IP to it.

I feel for you. When it comes to insufficient fiber capacity.. everybody is at Opennet mercy. That said, MR failed to update the customer early enough and this is one of the key issue which alot of user has with MR. Their billing isn't an angel as well but at least they do act fast.

communication is KEY in today's market.

We can understand it they can't do S&*% about it when it relates to OpenNet but the non-communication + rahrah marketing only makes things worse.

They should refund you, they aren't in any position to hold the money.

I'm in a similar situation as you. Recontracted with them without thinking because the first 2 years were ok. Plan was upgraded from 100Mbps to 300Mbps so I also got a new router from them. This led to having to also make 2 appointments, one with OpenNet and one with MR to complete the switch.

They too took a a few weeks to contact me on appointments from the time I signed up to recontract. After arranging with my parents to stay home for both days (OpenNet first then MR) for the appointments, both were not met. OpenNet and MR both called me separately to change schedules and it's irritating because I was not at home and had to coordinate with my parents again.

Anyway, after installation I had problems with the connection which I called the technical hotline and waited for a long time before somebody was available to talk to me. After which, the person did not solve my problem and said would call me back the next day (and never did). Until now, it's been almost a week (and I have already resolved the problem on my own) still nobody called me back.

Their level of customer service now is disgusting.

I'm experiencing a "no connection" issue with MR fibre since 6am this morning.
Could not get connected to the internet. Called up & the earliest appointment set will be tomorrow morning, leaving me with a day of down time (was hoping for a fast recovery, guess not).

The ONT shows a red signal light in the ONT's Optical LED. Did a power off & on cycle throughout the day & still it does not help. Is there any other way I can trouble shoot & rectify the problem myself? :(

Maybe you can check the physical fiber cable between TP and ONT?
