bros,

Im currently with M1 fibre and my contract has ended ..saw the latest promo of 1gbps for $49.90 ...

Thinking of switching over but have concern on the stabilility and performance of myrepublic fibre ... Appreciate your advice if i should jump ship to myrepublic // tks

Personally for me so far the speed consistency and line stability is better then my old Starhub connection.

yeah. anyway. DC we need to determine whether if it MR connection DC. or router to devices DC. can we confirm when the DC appear for wireless, all LAN still remain connected and working?

My Republic - Digital Voice

Hi,

Was deciding whether to sign up for my republic. Understand my republic provides digital voice. If I am currently on Singtel MIO bundle, can I still maintain my home number when porting to my republic's digital voice?

The middleman (NucleusConnect) is taken out of the chain, including cost and installation. Most ISPs are now their own OpCo.

The above is based on what MR staffs told me.

MR staffs, please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

MR will migrate their users from the existing OpCo to their own OpCo batch by batch.

So far, no official reply from any MR staff as to the benefits of MR becoming its own OpCo.

1. Apart from taking out the middle men (i.e. NucluesConnect), will there be any improvements in routing / peering etc?

2. Will existing MR users on NucluesConnect as OpCo be migrated to the MR OpCo if they do not upgrade to the new 300MB/1GB plans?

1. Some details can't be discussed. :). But overall it's highly beneficial to user and us

3. Nope. Unless they move to new plan :)

The OpCo doesn't handle routing and peering so there should be no change there. It's in MR's financial interest to eventually migrate all customers to their in-house OpCo (why pay an outsider) so it's a near certainty that this will happen, albeit in phases, similar to m1's migration from NC to their in-house OpCo.

Any static IP users find that the speed to China websites eg. taabao is very slow? Even my phone on 4G loads much much faster.

And after I switched to dynamic IP, the speed improved.

Guys,

Any idea if I upgrade to the 1Gbps plan, how can I achieve the maximum speed without direct connection? Will homeplugs be able to achieve max speed?

In reality, with wired connection you can only achieve close to 1Gbps but not the full speed of 1Gbps.

Be prepared a 50% - 60% drop of the wired connection speed for wireless depending on the router and wireless adapter.

Nope, HomePlug also cannot guarantee the max speed of 1Gbps because it also depends on the electrical wiring of your house and block.

Home plug would not give a result higher than 300mbps. I would recommend trunking.
