Had my Nucleus replaced by the Alcatel Lucent ONT today.

Until now the ''connection" light is still blinking. The installation guy said something like OpenNet needs to do some patching. What patching did he meant anyways?

new customer of MR for a week already.
for at least half the week, the internet connection around this hour (like around 10pm(?) to early morning, not sure exactly as i'd have slept past the duration by then) is as good as non-existent.
Not a good start for a new MR customer :(
I don't surf twitch tv, so idk the situation on that side...

the connection is so terrible i'm making this post on my data plan. yes, i'm at home and using my data plan  anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Are you able to explain more in terms of what types of connection (wired or wireless), any particular websites, etc?

In short, disconnect from Nucleus Connect infrastructure and connect to MR infrastructure.

Nope.. didn't have any issues. Was streaming some youtube.. playing some web based game in UK, Facebook'ing and checking email. Webpage didn't hesitate more than half a second to load. It could be more of a localized problem for you. Are you using Wireless?

it's working without a hitch now! cool!
wired connection, accessed facebook, hotmail, all other sites i find via google search due to the work i need to do...

not using the network extender (that goes via the mains. its crap for me)

I think one should wait till the whole scheduled maintenance (not just individual areas) is completed before concluding if Twitch is not working or not.

You really shouldn't get the hopes of the twitch kiddies up.. Personally I have no faith in MR to get that issue resolved anytime soon. My twitch streaming was great on the old 100mbps pure (old white NC ONT), with me able to stream at source quality with tons of other applications and devices using the web simultaneously. Then silly me hands itchy had to pick up that call from the sales rep who got me to upgrade to the 300mbps (new black MR ONT) straightaway on the line, all without doing any research here.

Now I can't stream at source like the old days without twitch buffering every 5-10s, and that's with everything shutoff except twitch. All I can think now is thank goodness twitch isn't a priority for me :s8:

For now I really hope the "maintenance and upgrades" will actually improve the twitch problem for the kiddies, without breaking anything for the rest of us :s22:

Dont say you all experience issues that needs network expertise to solve, my whole account missing from their system when they upgraded to the new one. I cant even login to check my bills / change password etc. It's already 1 month liao man...

Really dunno what to say. Lodged a ticket with them, and asked for follow up. Like talking to wall like that. Really is :s22:

Sorry guys, just wish to share my frustrations here.

My contract ended on 18Sep and I have signed up for VQ, but now running into problem doing 'Fibre Takeover'.

Apparently, on my request, VQ applied for a 'Fibre Takeover' from MR which is supposed to happen tomorrow. Now OpenNet inform VQ that the application is rejected due to issues with MR.

So I called up MR, after getting thru the line, cso replied dunno a single thing, can't help, need to check with another person and that person not around. I asked for the person direct contact, cso say dun have direct line, no name was given, say will call me back b4 lunch 2pm.

This is the kind of customer service which is putting off people. I will never consider signing up MR anymore and will never recommend them to friends or family.

my internet connection sucked some 20-30 minutes plus after i posted this. as i had work to do, i was awake up until 3+am when the connection was up and running again.

facebook, this forums, google search, and the other tech sites i frequent (anandtech, guru3d, techpowerup) all fails to load.

wired/wireless connection all the same.

Have you terminate with MR?

Correct me if I am wrong, I think MR can only release the port upon termination which include some processing time before they can release the port.

Yes, I have called in as well as thru online chat to inform them of my intention to terminate my contract 1 week before it ends.

Tried calling a lot parties (MR, VQ, OpenNet & NC) to figure out how to ensure a smooth transition.

OpenNet advised me to inform VQ to put in a 'Fibre Takeover' request, which I did. VQ then inform me that the takeover will happen tentatively on 3Oct. Today VQ called again to say application was rejected due to issues on MR side.

Not sure what is going on with MR side, that is what I want to find out.:(
