N7105 Root and custom rom flashing tutorial (R&D stage)

So I can follow the guide in first post? (as in, that method have no problem? I saw several other guides for rooting so kinda confused about it)

The apps I'm looking at are free apps, if I want paid apps then I suppose it will complicate things? (I assume will requie Japan CC which is impossible?)

Free apps should be ok, it's not an exact process, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

The only way is to try it.

Ummm....are you using a N7105 or L900?

edit: i flashed the wanam rom and all is working fine. pretty smooth with my perseus kernel.

Did not flash as i didnt want to have a permanent 1 for flash counter if i flash CWM. . But the pull is strong haha.. Is there any difference between stock rom and customs?

This wanam one is pretty light on the battery. Not as much drain as compared to the stock rom I have been using.

Any of you guys managed to claim warranty after rooting and flashing a stock recovery?

HELP! rooted, checked its rooted but cannot boot into recovery! flashed recovery also many times already

Keep on going to samsung boot screen but its a off centre and flickering screen, then it goes blank.

after numerous attempts, i managed to get it to boot to twrp, cwm totally cannot.

another weird thing, i can only flash TW based roms, like cleanrom etc. All CM and aokp roms will go through the flicker thingy and blank screen.

Help please! the reason i root is to do away with tw!

Try to flash an updated twrp for your phone before flashing any rom. After flashing the rom remember wipe data and reset. If not will be stuck at boot. Do read the instructions and steps clearly before proceeding. I'm using cm10.1 night lies daily without any problems

Seems I can't flash cm10.1 with twrp. Went to xda and found that my issue is not an isolated problem. A lot people seems to have similar issues.

So the solution is to flash philz cwm instead of the official one. Flashing of the boot screen still occurs but at least it boots up after a while. Posting this post with my note 2 on cm10.1! Woohoo!

Anyway just want to highlight that my wife's note 2 didn't have this issue. Root and flashing went very smoothly. Her set is a starhub set, bought in Nov. Mine is bought just this month.

So I'm guessing there's some difference in the set's hardware or software, coz exact procedures yield different results. Maybe some expert can help?

you dun have anything that is programmed by samsung. so, no multiwindow. i'll probably only try cm10 when it is no longer nightlies. until then, wanam for me.

Ic. How can I login my email using my school mail. It says "You can install certificates from a PKCS#12 file with a pfx or a p12 extension located in external storage." But no such files in my external storage, where can I get them?
