Hi guys ive been reading the post on first page but still abit confused.
im not so concern about rooting because I think I cam live without it just yet.
My problem here: I bought my phone from samsung shops. Therefore it is a non telco set. Problem is that I am not able to recieve firmware updates that was released earlier today.
My main goal: I want to flash the phone to a singtel set because im on singtel line so that I can be able to recieve firmware updates in the futute. But at the same time I do not want to lose my data saved games etc.

With that being said, can some one tell me the exact steps I need to take to do this? Also will my phone warranty be void if I do this?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

As long you need to change from retail set to telco set (for your case ST), you will need to use csc changer from play store to do that. Changing CSC will reset your phone (Means all thing will be lost on the phone)

Thanks for that. Will my warranty be at any threat if I do this? Also no way for not wiping data on phone ?

I know theres a batch restore button but its showing all the default system files and not those I have saved to my dropbox. Under my backup in dropbox theres like tones of files.....how can I redirect the batch restore to my dropbox

Can someone please help ?

Backup app like Titanium Backup (Most popular) and i using DataSync all required root access to work.

I not sure about the rest of backup app liao.

Anyone else know anyway I can backup all data saved games etc before I try to change csc to singtel without going thru the trouble of rooting? Thanks

ic...which means if i got my phone from M1 and using M1 line, i just need to download this LJ5 file for M1 so that I don't have to change CSC?

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j9vztdb40rvk1rq/r63b-xct_t/M1/N7105XXALJ5_N7105OLBALJ1_MM1.zip

What additional app will appear on the phone depend on the CSC. Even if yout get your phone from M1, you can use SH and ST line. Just that your phone will contain bloatwware from M1 since your phone CSC is M1. But normally M1 Rom dont contain bloatware.

Dont think so...i downloaded the starhub version. all the singtel bloatware is still around

You purchase your phone from ST right?

Warranty will not be void. But your phone will be reset(wipe) for the new CSC to take effect.

Whats the difference between this step and using the csc changer app?
Can some guru enlighten me please.

This method is using the samsung debug mode function. CSC change is an application written by it author to do the same thing the easy way.

LJ4 HK rom works fine!

The LJ4 HK version one works fine on my N7105! (previously LJ3 from M1)

And it even includes the modded Multiview where all apps are enabled! :)

Just one problem, after flashing it, my messages shows only contact Numbers (no name), and Calender cannot sync. But I've solved it already :)

To fix it, go into Settings > Application manager > then look for Contact Storage and clear data. Do the same for Calender Storage.

*been using for 1 day. Only one major issue so far... That is my battery seems to drain twice as fast...
