N7105 Root and custom rom flashing tutorial (R&D stage)

What additional app will appear on the phone depend on the CSC. Even if yout get your phone from M1, you can use SH and ST line. Just that your phone will contain bloatwware from M1 since your phone CSC is M1. But normally M1 Rom dont contain bloatware.

Yeap, but i used the *#272#IMEI thing and selected starhub. Brillant....totally no bloatware liao. But the thing is...is it better to use starhub or XSP ?

The LJ4 HK version one works fine on my N7105! (previously LJ3 from M1)

And it even includes the modded Multiview where all apps are enabled!

Just one problem, after flashing it, my messages shows only contact Numbers (no name), and Calender cannot sync. But I've solved it already

To fix it, go into Settings > Application manager > then look for Contact Storage and clear data. Do the same for Calender Storage.

can we actually sticky this post or at least post this solution in a FAQ or help thread?

tried this and its very useful, my call logs are finally working fine without me having to do a fresh wipe.

i believe this problem surfaces everytime we do a firmware update via odin.

Can I still do a software upgrade if my SGN II is rooted? If yes, how can I do it?

I think select teleco csc better ba. Since the OTA normally blast to teleco csc base phone.

No. You cant check for software upgrade once you are rooted. Since the status will show modified. But you will still received software upgrade notification (Proved by LJ5 OTA notification users get from their rooted phone)

Another way is to flash the new stock rom via odin. Your data wont be wipe when you flash the stock rom via odin.

It's the same. There's only two custom roms in xda now.

HELP !!!! I've got the titanium backup pro and ran a backup to my dropbox account. Updated to the latest firmware LJ5 , but now i've no idea how to restore every single app back.....

I know theres a batch restore button but its showing all the default system files and not those I have saved to my dropbox. Under my backup in dropbox theres like tones of files.....how can I redirect the batch restore to my dropbox

Can someone please help ?

first you need to root your phone again. then go into your TB pro and enable the dropbox option, next press on the schedule button. you'll see three options. the last one is to sync to your drop box. press run and your phone will download your backup from drop box. and lastly, restore your backup. hope that helps.

Yeap, i manage to download all the backup and select the right backup folder. And damn this Titanium Backup Pro is really solid....backup to the core, the way i place my icon, apps all restored.

Ya I rooted it then flashed that ROM lor.

Did you try opening the Multiview sidebar then go down to 'Edit'? Then u will see all the apps you have that you can drag it into the Multiview sidebar.

Hi all brothers, I need some help here.

Going through the instructions many times, I am met with a hardware issue.

After selecting the .tar file to be patched, I am supposed to plug in the phone to the computer via usb in download mode. I understand that in Odin, a port has be colored yellow for it to register my device am I right?

If so, then here's the hardware problem I was talking about: It only shows the 0COM:3 in highlighted yellow WHEN I TURN ON THE PHONE TO NORMAL MODE. When I plug it in in download mode, it doesn't show anything.

My USB debugging is turned on based on other tutorials from other websites. I am still stuck.

Need serious help. I'm on LJ5.
