nowadays, i seldom go for custom roms already.
last time, due to phones which were poorly built...so end up had to depend on roms which fixed lots of things and gave features that the manufacturer couldn't give.

now, using note 2...i actually don't quite require a custom rom as it might mean i would lose the s-pen integration. on another hand...the stock rom so far so good too.

Does the s-pen integration fail once n2 is root? Or is it for some ROMs that it loses it integration.

root is just root.
unless your root requires you to flash non samsung based roms.

only if the rom is based on AOSP

more accurately is...if the rom is not based on samsung rom.
any rom not based on samsung will not work with s-pen and other snote/smemo etc

PS: I flash 4.1.2 from 4.1.1 LJ5 ROM w/o wipe

does your setting keep freezing & does it shows a white outline transparency box blinking whenever it touches end of the scrolling?

Is it better? Signal and smoothness-wise?

I feels signal is better. but smoothness abit lag. Since i didnt do a wipe. This might be causing it too. Overall, I feels it better den 4.1.1.

Setting never freeze b4. as for the blinking box, i didint really saw any.

Hi Guys,

Just need to confirm how do we flash the firmware from N7105XAALJ5 back to N7105XXALIJ? Is it the same procedure as how you flash the N7105XXALJ3 to LJ5 just that instead of using the LJ5 rom, we use the LIJ rom?

I've not managed to connect to any 4G signals since getting the phone 2 weeks ago and the G/3G/H/H+ network switching issue is still giving me problems on the LJ5 firmware. It doesn't help that I'm on Starhub as well...

Edited:
Ah well, I've flashed it back to LIJ rom so I've answered my own question.

Another thing on the network signal switching. Apparently it's by design and is called Fast Dormancy, which is supposed to save your battery life by switching to a network signal to allow you to save on your phone's power when there's no data traffic moving. (i.e. switching from LTE to 3G or 3G to Edge when there are no longer any active transfers going on as the lower powered network is supposed to be less power draining on your phone)

Another thing is the carrier has to support this in order for you to enjoy that power saving as they're supposed to send a signal to your phone to tell it to throttle down. If the carrier doesn't support it but your phone supports it and is turned on then there's a issue where your phone will keep mis-interpreting the signals to throttle down, resulting in frequent switching of signal network...

Apparently Starfugs and Singtel supports this as well so am currently comtemplating the idea of turning off Fast Dormancy... Will update if I get around to doing it.

In the mean time, here's some reading material for those who are interested.
